We have all gotten hung up on a girl, but it is more striking when you view it objectively as an outsider. A casual friend mentioned his relationship problems. His on-again off-again girlfriend used drugs, acted unprofessionally, and treated him badly. Then one night he pointed her out in a restaurant. I looked, but couldn't find her. He kept pointing, but I saw only one woman, dumpy and older looking. Then it hit me - that was her! After all the abuse he took, I presumed she was a supermodel or somesuch.

Unfortunately, your crush may be overweight, flaky, or merely average-looking. That's no problem if you share love. But if you get treated badly then it is time to evaluate more objectively. Ask your friends whether she is truly hot enough to justify abuse.

A long time ago there was a Good Charlotte song I liked (I think it was Seasons). This was before they were famous. It was very heart-felt. Then I actually met the girl that the song was about.

I never listened to Good Charlotte again.

This is very true.

The best test for this principle is to open up your old yearbooks and look at the girls that you fawned over in high school. Though, I must say, you may end up kicking yourself for the girls you didn't notice.

The opposite of this also happened to me. I recently ran into some old pictures of a Polish-Russian girl that I chased like mad--and temporarily got fixated on--before I got into game. She looked better than I remembered.

Oneitis is a form of pedestalization. Many guys who have very weak inner game end up in this situation. These types of guys reason that "I have pussy, that's all that matters, and I'm willing to pay whatever price to keep it." These guys also have a Save-a-Ho outlook on life, where they believe that with enough patience and care, their ugly duckling will magically transform into a swan. It's pointless trying to make them see light, they're way too pussy whipped. The luckier ones get a rude awakening when their abusive "Ten" runs off with a beta even worse than themselves.

No woman is worse any kind of abuse. I don't give a fcuk if she is an 11 out of 10. If we are talking relationships then there are qualities that go beyond her just making your dyck hard. What if you need someone solid that can help you in a sticky situation? Help you get your money right? What can a 10 do but rack up bills?
I've been in the presence of 9's and 10's but if she has a nasty personality or all she can offer is looks, once I get that nutt off, I'm out like Shout.

At the end of the day, it's all about how that woman makes you feel and how you view her.

I've been with 5's that I couldn't stop fcuking (because their bodies felt like 9's, extra wet pussy, extra velvety flesh) and I've been with 7-9's that I've gotten very bored of (dry pussies, annoying habits etc).
The key is to find a person who meets all the criteria and she can lose points depending on how she acts.

At the end of the day if you put up with abuse from a 10 that signals that you can't get any better. A real G wouldn't be limited to one lizard.

And agree on objectively re-evaluating your oneitis but it's crazy how you can be banging objective 8s and 9s but still be all dejected about your 6-7 oneitis. Not sure what an effective cure could be other than completely shutting her off or treating it like they would for druggies in rehab, as someone mentioned before.

I met the lead guitarist for Good Charlotte rolling drunk out of PB Bar and Grill once (a place I'm sure G has spent more hours than he'd care to admit here). He had two absolute trash slags on his arms; stringy-haired, fake-tan leather-skinned, cheap booze and infection-riddled gutter whores. I told him his band sucked ass. He responded by asking me how my band was doing. I told him we had just won a Best New Artist Grammy and called him a fag. He slunk away to bang the skanks. And that is the extent of my dealings with Good Charlotte.
