This is yet another frail attempt by the left to push their version of masculinity. This was hard to watch. Out of all the possibilities of showing new waves of modern masculinity, I believe they really came up short.

Now I wouldn't really consider competitive eating to be the manliest of traits, but it still is competition. I would have liked to see them preview a gym, martial arts, motorcycle club, or anything else that men come together to do or compete.

The older gentleman he spoke to was interesting and tells the harder truths on the real nature of men vs women in learning environments. States what we all know here about biological differences between the sexes. He even used a term which I found hilarious, the Lace Curtain.

The stay at home dads and the especially the "bravehearts" club was pretty cringeworthy. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that if a man is having a hard time finding work and stays home to raise kids, I don't see that as such a bad thing. But, the ones staying home so their wife can wear the pants and have it all is pathetic.

The "bravehearts" are a joke. It seems like herbivore men version 2.0. They come across as super weak, very effeminate, and probably closeted queers. Definitely not poster boys for masculinity.

The gay guy with the masculine/feminine/gay test was another crock of shit. If you don't know if you are a masculine then you are probably aren't. I'll give the guy props on one thing though, he's making money off these herbs who are gullible enough to buy his books and take his tests.

There is so much more that can be pulled apart from this video. I just wanted to give it a brief run down.

Heard lots of positive things about Vice. Heard it was a progressive auxiliary of new media, an independent alternative to the MSM, and so had a lot of hope. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon one of their short documentaries about the Men's Rights Movement. It was a video they had titled Anti-Feminists Think Rape Victims Deserve It; a disingenuous and brazenly dishonest title since NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON INTERVIEWED IN THE DOCUMENTARY EXPRESSED ANY KIND OF SENTIMENT THAT COULD EVEN BE MISCONSTRUED TO JUSTIFY THAT TITLE. I realised then that they were just another click-bait media operation sensationalising subjects while strictly adhering to the official narrative.

I have not watched another of their videos since.

I fully agree with you. No one doubts that the current Vice is pushing an agenda that reeks of social justice in many of their videos.

However, I find that they do one thing well: war and conflict reporting. The journalists, no matter their ideological leaning, that venture into Syria/Afghanistan and other war zones are brave. Vice seem to put a lot of stock into producing these "news from the front" reports. Their 45 minute report from inside ISIS in 2014, when people began to see they were not an ordinary terror organization, was outstanding.

If I remember correctly they got their breakthrough with just these kind of reports, where young ballsy journos would plunge into hot conflict zones and give a raw account of the current state of affairs. They should stick to what they know, as the SJW market is saturated with less talented people more inclined to report on Feelz than stuff that's actually interesting and bizarre, like cannibalistic African warlords or Estonian citizen brigades preparing for a Russian invasion.

Currently, Vice wastes their potential, and I suspect that's why Gavin McInnes (a founder) left.

Slightly OT but still, Vice isn't 100% cow dung. Dig and you'll find gems.

That was from 2005. Crazy how things change in a short time.

I remember flipping through the pages of the magazine in the late 90's/early 2000's at skate/surf shops. Pics of sexy girls, cool articles. It was great.

The irony is that if they had continued in the same vein they would have been the major or only player in producing that kind of content, which more and more young men desire in these times of feminized garbage. Instead, they are now just one of dozens of similar SJW outlets, which are rapidly losing money.

^^The above was written by Gavin when he was there. Props to that dude as he remained principled/steadfast in his beliefs even after tasting big leagues and big money. Meanwhile, his ex-partners decided to embrace the typical path of least resistance by catering to feminists/SJW crowds while getting in the bed with mainstream media conglomerates for increased reach and $.

If you follow Vice today you are not only years behind the cool that has left the building, you are downright aiding and abetting the enemy.

It was pretty clear from the get go which way this documentary was going - the authors and narrators prejudices were clear when they started talking about 'ruling society' and 'some people think there's a problem'.

I enjoyed a lot of what stories and dispatches Vice first put together with Suroosh Alvi in Pakistan and Afghanistan a few years back as well as their Munchies food based channel on You tube. Now it seems that everything has more and more of an SJW slant. Especially they put out a lot of anti Canadian oil sands / anti development / pro native propaganda.

Yeah VICE completely changed their voice and approach. In the beginning it was a very "masculine" publication with a "masculine", red pill world view. It was primarily geared towards guys I think. But in the last years I think they decided that their primary target audience will be SJW women. In fairness, it's a smart move - women are just way better consumers. They can make a lot more money that way. It's the same with ID magazine btw - which was bought by VICE a couple of years ago. Before VICE bought ID the mag was struggling financially - it was a fashion magazine that was not necessarily very female-oriented, I think they tried to appeal to both men and women. Now ID is basically a feminist publication, every second article is about a "feminist artist" or "feminist fashion designer". The change is really very noticeable.
