What is masculinity really? Everyone has a version of it! And it seems as time goes by, the meaning of it loses itself. The goal of this thread, is to discuss, and maybe find a consensus on what makes a man masculine! And hopefully provide a general guide that newcomers can use.

Both genders have a role to play.

The primary role of woman is to have babies. This in itself makes woman valuable. Where one woman can only have a limited amount of babies. One man can have a near unlimited amount of babies without much cost. This makes males replaceable and woman not.

This means that when it is time to take risks, it is upto the males to take these risks. As a male you are supposed to climb a tree and grab the coconuts. Or to fight the lion that terrorizes your group. Or to kill a scary spider. Or to defend your tribe when attacked. Or to eat a potential poisonous plant, testing whether it is safe to eat or not.

Tasks that you do not want a woman to do because if you happen to loose too many woman, not enough babies be born or genetic diversity cannot be maintained.

You are supposed to go out into the world and dominate the fuck out of it. You should be fearless enough to climb that tree. Strong enough to fight that lion. Be the first in line to eat that plant. And lead the charge when attacking your enemies. Kill that scary spider with indifference.

And when you return alive from these tasks, you will be celebrated by everyone, as you have fulfilled your natural purpose.

^^^ this was nicely answered, but is there really someone fearless? I feel like it comes down to courage, as one can be scared but gather the strength to climb the tree! And how do you think, masculinity translate in today's society ?

Masculinity is to be seen and behave as a male, as a man, hair on the chest, manly. no metrosexual behavior!
