Back in college and HS, I met my girlfriends through coed sports and running. Those relationships were better and stronger than girls I met elsewhere. I recently read that girls become more attracted when their heart levels are elevated and they form emotional bonds to men that way. I suppose that also happens during sex, lol.

I was thinking about getting back into shape and training for a half-marathon. Has anyone had any luck meeting girls at road races or marathon races?

It seems to me like there would be a lot of hot skinny fitness girls who are into running at those events. But there isn't a whole lot of time for socializing. I suppose the best way would be to establish and expand social circle game by finding running friends and racing/pacing partners.

I guess it would be kinda skeevy to ask a girl to train or go for a 30 minute run if they don't know you well. Is that too much of an insta-date if you just want to meet a lot of girls in a low-pressure situation? Some girls also might not want to go running with a guy they are not attracted to right away.

The article you mention is misleading.

What it should have been referring to is oxytocin, which can be raised by running and exercise in general, promoting a deeper connection (love). If it was just due to heart rate, tachycardia would be the newest craze.

Can't help you with the marathon running thing, that's for skinny people. I would rather take a dance class. You're going to have better luck getting a girl to dance salsa/tango/two-step with you than having her run a marathon.

Picking up these fitness girls at a road race as a guy who's just getting back into shape is akin to picking up girls at the gym when you're the smallest guy there. As a guy who's been in both situations, it's very hard to succeed due to 1) the competition and 2) fitness is a masculine activity, so you have to be extra masculine by comparison.

I see your point but distance running isn't as difficult as bulking up.
Besides, the competition may be married so its not like the top runners are focused on picking up girls.
Most women are very slow runners compared to men, so its fairly easy for a out-of-shape guy to train with a woman at her pace. If I was really training for top finishes, I would train with men and push myself. But I'm focused on meeting women while keeping in shape.

There are lots of sports that aren't masculine. Salsa Dancing was mentioned as something that beginners can get into. Yoga is something feminine. I don't know if "being the best" in a sport, is a requirement for picking up women.
Surely, there are plenty of women who don't care that a guy is a beginner or novice and is putting in effort to learn a new skill or hobby?

Skinny guys get laid all the time without needing to be ultra-masculine. Hipsters are pretty skinny. I think it can be done being skinny.

I trained for a half with a running group a few years back and it was packed with girls a lot of whom were single. Most major cities have run clubs that also have social components... Go run a 5k and then hit a bar.
I made the best of it and picked up a few girls.... What I did was start in a slower group and worked a couple girls there and then moved up to my actual intended pace and gamed another one. The group I ran with had over 300 runners so it was very easy to not see people from other pace groups outside of stretching and actually arriving at the meeting place.

I know There is now Spartan/Mud run groups but some of those chicks might as well have dicks.....buyer beware.

Yeah, LOL the Mud runners sound like fun but I can definitely seeing it being a thing for Butch girls to prove their toughness. I much rather prefer the skinny 5k girl who runs to stay skinny, rather than out to prove her toughness.
