This is interesting because it pushed the time the Aborigenees arrive in Australia even further back.

Why is this interesting?

Because the Out of Africa theory or Recent African Origin claims that all humans alive are the result of a single migration out of Eastern Africa around 50.000 years ago.

However, when Aborigenees are found in the interior of Australia already at 49.000 years ago, that is a very quick jog from Africa to Australia, considering that the oldest known singular European fossil is 45,000 years old.

In addition, Chinese archeologists have discovered Homo Sapiens in Southern China at around 80.000 years ago.

Again, rather difficult if you believe the Out of Africa theory.

The further back, human remains are found outside Africa, the less likely it is that a single Homo Sapiens migration from Africa has populated the world with humans.

A competing thesis is the Multi-Regional Hypothesis, which suggests that the shared ancestor of the different people of the world is not a single Homo Sapiens, but a shared Homo Erectus and then the various modern Sapiens ethnicities being a result of convergent evolution and interbreeding with other Homo species such as Neanderthal (who came from Erectus and were quite human - through convergent evolution).

I'm no scholar, but I find the idea that multiple inter-breedable ape-men evolved parallel convergently to each other in distinctly different areas over the course of a few hundred thousand years to be the geographical and biological equivalent of winning the lottery three times in a row.

Alternate ideas? I have not a clue. But I look at this stuff and it really seems like the evolutionists are calling billion to one shots a little too frequently.

This new finding only pushes the migration Out of Africa theory back a few thousand years.

This new finding doesn't change the premise of the migration Out of Africa Theory, but may have implications on the time frame. As cited,human remains have already been found in Asia which are dated to be 70,000-80,000 years old. Mostly likely the migration was not in one wave, but several waves over thousands of years.

So it would have been possible for more primitive humans to reach Australia, even with simple rafts, as there wasn't a whole lot of distance between the land.

During this period, CO2 levels were very low as well as moisture content in the atmosphere. Plants were very stressed at this time, which stressed the entire food chain, which meant food inland was hard to come by. There is evidence that during this period, man spent a lot of time beach combing for sustenance (clams, fish, seaweed, salt, etc.).

So a lot of evidence of man's early travels is now under hundreds of feet of water. This I suspect is also why physical evidence (i.e. burial plots) of the Clovis culture is also so hard to come by.

We may have had earlier versions of humans reach areas farther into the past, but died out when the climate shifted (the Pleistocene had really wild swings in temps), and all evidence is now under the sea.

Chinese are convinced of migration Into Africa and an origin of Homo Sapiens in Asia.

I posted some time back about the Andaman Islanders and how genetic testing puts them in Southern China not Africa with ancient paternal DNA from Southern China.

Which means we have ancient negrito populations in Asia, much older than the most recent negroid skulls in Africa (only about 10-15K old at most 35K it seems), but Andamese are at least 65.000 years old.
