Has anyone been found carrying the stuff by say, a customs agent, and cleared after showing it was medically prescribed in their home country?

never have, but I would never be that brave. If, let's say, you're flying from a U.S. state where MM is legal (let's use Cali as an example), the second the federal agents catch you with it at the airport, you're done for.

not sure how other countries work, but I am curious to learn about it

The best way is edibles preferably put in a legit cake, brownie, etc packaging to be extra careful. Domestic or vacation destinations flights are usually ok.

FYI - the trained dogs can detect edibles if your planning to go over sea's.

Where are you traveling from and traveling to? Assuming you said customs, you intend on bringing it to a country.

Over all, it's a stupid idea. In the US MMJ is illegal by federal law and Customs/TSA/DHS/ICE/USBP are federal agencies. You will be charged with a federal crime like "intent to deliver Marijuana across state lines", "Conspiracy to distribute Marijuana", or a possession charge depending on how much you carry.

Also, they have minimum required sentencing guidelines and.......there's no parole in the Federal system.

Do some legwork. Visit the embassy/consulate of the country you wish to visit and ask them about it. (Repeat for each country) maybe they can give you an exception permit so you have it in case customs pulls you over.

The K-9s you see at the airports are trained for bombs, not drugs.

TSA does not give a shit about your bottle of gummies or pack of joints. As long as you are not bringing a ziplock back full of buds in your carry on then you should be fine.

Going through customs in your destination country is where it gets risky. I wouldn't want to take the chance on prison in a foreign country when you could probably find a bag within an hour of landing in most countries.

Medications prescribed in one country aren't necessarily legal in another. This is a big shock to a lot of people who rarely travel, but each country actually has its own legal system which is of absolutely authority in that country.
