Products which force facial hair growth?
I'm a 21 year old guy with very little facial hair outside of a small pedotasche and a tiny bit of stubble. Unfortunately this seems to be a genetic issue as my brother (who's 31) can also barely grow a beard.

Are there any products out there (other than roids) which promote facial hair growth?

You can try minoxidil. From what I've read it works but you have to give it a few months before you see any real difference.

A lot of people would probably prefer testosterone to minoxidil. I know that one of the side effects is dark circles under your eyes. Doing testosterone might bring you a lot more benefits, but you have to use androgens responsibly to avoid side effects. This will of course depend on your jurisdiction.

Can't believe Comte and Suits haven't mentioned me in this thread yet.

I turn 26 next month and can't grow a beard to save my life. At best I can rock a pedo-stache and goatee.

I tried Beardilizer , did not work for me. Waste of money, it's just a limited multivitamin supplement for hair.

I had heard of minoxidil but I was under the impression that it's just for your scalp. I may have to give it a try. Thanks fam.

Did you try not shaving or doing anything to your face for 6 months? I used to think I couldn't grow a beard and then a friend of mine just told me not to touch my face for 6 months. He said that after years of shaving/buzzing that the follicles just need time to wake up. No idea if it's true or not---but it worked.

I don't know if I've gone 6 months, but I have gone 2-3 months at least before and nothing happens apart from the fact that I get ~1 inch long whispyish hairs where I can grow them.

Yeah that may not be enough time depending on your genetics, how long you've been shaving, etc. Three months wasn't really enough time for me--my beard didn't really start to get that full, thicker look until about 5 months in.

If you can do the full 6 months I would recommend that. Though I guess you might not be able to if you work in a corporate environment or the military where beards are frowned upon or disallowed...

Why do you want facial hair, I hate it. I have to cut my beard every 3 days or I start looking like an Al Queda terrorist.

Heh, you should meet me, brown skin, with a big ass black beard and I own it.

As for OP - some men aren't able to grow facial hair regardless of what they put on their skin or into their body.

Some dudes just get lucky when it comes to beards some don't.

You just have to own what you got, beard or no beard.

You're young and your hormone system is still developing. Do your research on side effects of minoxidil or testosterone (AT YOUR AGE) before you start.

If I recall correctly, we have a thread here where guys are complaining about minoxidil side effects, some of which are pretty serious.

I can grow a normal beard but my sideburns don't exist. Very annoying indeed. I can relate OP.

you can try herbs like he shou wu/rehamannia they are good for building kidney energy if it's deficient, which would inhibit hair growth. but it could just be genetic.

D'arsonval treatment can help hair growth in moderation.

Why risk your health and wallet when the problem is reduced to genetics or hormones?
You cannot change genetics, but you can change your hormones. Facial hair is parcially linked to testosterone. Lift more. If it doesn't work, you know it's genetic and don't need to spend money on crap that will not work.

So I've been using minoxidil for about two weeks now. So far so good. I only use it once a day (before I go to sleep) instead of the recommended twice a day. My skin has a been a little dry, but nothing coconut oil can't handle. I'll post a before and after pic at the end of the month.

RE: Products which force facial hair growth?
Castor Oil.
More specifically, castor oil made as a beard butter.

I've used the stuff and now I'm growing some hair on my face where it wasn't before.
It won't magically give you a full beard, but it can help spur growth in the patchy parts.

To be honest, I'm really lax about using the stuff on consistent basis.
So if you were really tenacious about applying daily, you could probably see even better results.
