Snap your fingers and say, "hey, my eyes are up here". Let her know that she was busted meat gazing, she should blush unless she's a complete whore. If she demures you taunt & tease her accordingly.

I always just accept the complement. With a slight grin and crinkle of the eyes, turn your head to look deep into her eyes, wait a second to give it emphasis (sometimes I'll flash my eyelids wider here, I don't know why), and say slightly warmly so only she can hear, "Thank you."

If she said something that just made her look totally beta, I'll smile, roll my head away while looking away and raising my eyebrows wistfully, and still say "Thank you." with less warmth, but not quite condescension. It's a pause or a beat to change the direction of the conversation.

And if she is a real beta (or omega) acting fannish, realize that fans always say clumsy things, and you just have to forgive them and go with the intent (to complement you) rather than how it actually executed (awkward!). Without pausing or hesitation at all so no one has time to dwell on the misspoke, look them straight in the eye, beam them the most cheesy smile you can manage, reach out and shake their hand, saying "Thank you." in the most gushy voice possible while nodding your head with the syllables for emphasis, and then move on. You're only going to interact with this person once in your life. Gloss over the fact that they blew it. If you beam warm enough no one there will even remember what the hell the face in the crowd said, they'll just remember your charm, your smile, and the warmth of your response.
