With the length and breadth of the topic of Life Purpose, I've been struggling to focus on Game. I've literally spent most of my days thinking about Life Purpose ever since asking about in this thread:
Life Purpose (RVF)
The thing is many of the guys on this particular forum probably have very different ideas of Life Purpose and so I feel exhausted at the replies I received. Maybe on my part, I wasn't very upfront about my motivations in life or my expertise in professional skills. I wasn't, simply for my own anonymity and I'm glad others respected that without enquiring further.
Some of the pitfalls of figuring out my Life Purpose are the fact that I've been interested in the Seduction/PUA Community in large part since 2004 when I discovered a website after searching for "How to be a player". Shortly and consecutively a turn of events led me (similar to Roosh explains in Bang) to a resource called Tony Clink's Layguide. I grew an interest in Speed Seduction and the Seduction/PUA Community from there. As with most guys who knew about Game in those days over the years, I've poked at it, been a keyboard jockey (oh what a heathen!!) and never grown to the successes of some of the community guys I first found.
I've literally bought all kinds of products about these topics, and related self-help, NLP, Hypnosis, Spiritual, Business, blah, blah, blah. I've been victim to marketing ploys and trends; first natural game, then social circle game, then phone game and blah, blah blah. You get the idea. I've been an insider and an outsider at the same time (being from a small town and having internet access for most of this time).
I noticed that most newbie's come into this with grandiose ideals of the efforts only to return to a forum asking all kinds of crazy bullshit about approach anxiety or making exchanging numbers equal quantum physics in relation to a metaphysical and omnipotent God that may or may not exist. Some of the constants within the advice among gurus began to repeatedly arise in all the products I went through if I went through them.
I'm not saying I know what works because I've tried all kinds of crazy advice and still have my ingrained beta habits from when I first discovered Game. In fact, as a confession, I was better at Game before I found it. I remember in summer and 1999 I had an open relationship with three different girls at the same time. Ever since I found Game my relationships with the opposite sex have been screwed up. I went from being a reasonably good seducer to an rAFC, it was a regression. Now I'm an AFC plain and simple.
Some guys don't need to learn this stuff because they already have great social circles, are sociable guys with relatively reasonable life circumstances and are handsome and in shape enough to get laid without it, countless times. I think what happens with most newbies who are seeking for the right advice and the right way of getting good at Game need to have a clear idea of what that entails.
For me, I've scrapped everything. I've gone full Monk Mode from January 1st 2017 in the hopes I can introspect my failings and successes with the opposite sex. I'm studying Roosh's material every weekend so that I can forget all the bullshit surplus advice I've accumulated over the years. When they say "Just use one resource" they actually have an altruistic purpose of helping other guys.
There are hundreds of Guru's. When I started out there were only a few handfuls of respected guys. It's like now they are everywhere. Everyone is a motherf**king guru!! It's total bullshit if you think about it. Not only that but have you noticed that to a large degree they all teach the exact same things!! Surely we're not THAT predictable as men!!??
I have respect for a few dating/seduction instructors after years of enquiry into all kinds of nutcases, sociopaths, fakes, idiots and whatever. I'm not being indignant in this respect. I literally wouldn't invite some of them for a coffee or give them a penny if they were sleeping rough.
Being a newbie is a constant. The mindset you have when you enter the community is the exact same mindset you leave the community with. This is elusive, cryptic and annoying to realise. At the moment you say "I need to learn game from that guy" is the moment you have become less of a man and you are beta to that man. Hope you're still following. At the moment you make someone else your teacher is the moment you become a student for life. If you choose to be a student of Game, you are a student of Game. Whatever processes you have to grow through will present themselves to you. All opportunity, all feedback, all mistakes and successes will now be on your path.
The problems newbies have with this is they feel inadequate. They feel like they need more information, they seek more advice, they buy more products, they seek new methods, they seek new teachers, they seek to try and make a technique work at the expense of others, they seek to get more 'reference experiences', blah, blah, blah. What they should do before all this is set themselves Long Term goals.
What are examples of Long Term Goals? If you take the Roosh Program for an example, that is a Long Term Goal for newbies. It leads you in the right direction to do a few simple things; fixing lifestyle, improving knowledge, improving health, desensitizing and problem solving when it comes to rejection, good habits, commitment. These are all great. But what do you when you finish the Roosh Program? What do you do if you have done it ten times? Is it guaranteed to get results? What defines a result? What is good and what is bad?
It seems important to me to figure out Long Term Goals. A newbie, or someone who hasn't gotten the results he wanted needs to go back to the essence of the WHY they started and then ask HOW. How will I get to the point of satisfaction? How will I get to the point of knowing I have achieved what I set out to achieve? What do I have to do to get there? What are MY long term goals?
And this brings me back to my thread about Life Purpose. In terms, of the big picture I'm reassessing my efforts. I'm rearranging my lifestyle. I'm setting myself the ideology to succeed. What ARE MY Long Term Goals? More importantly, will this help me define my Life Purpose?
What are your Long Term Goals?
