Any recomendation to make the escercise more palatable, or do you recomend another kind of cardio activity?
Go out in the nature and run there. Cycling is also a great alternative to running. But do it outside, if the weather is not absolute shit, otherwise you will die of boredom (and sweat).

^^ Running outside over a treadmill is good advice, use one of the running apps to calculate distance/time etc.

The best motivation for me is having a race booked in. Book a 10k race 3 months from now. It will keep you focused and motivated to keep running regularly, even when the weathers shit or you don't feel like it.

I've done a few half marathons abroad in Spain. Make a long weekend out of it, go sightseeing before the race and stay a few nights after the race to celebrate/party. It's also a huge plus in the eyes of any local girls that you're in their country to actually do something other than get drunk and try to pick them up.

I would agree that cycling is a good outdoor alternative to running to be active, but I dont think cycling crosses over to running. In fact, the more I rode my bike, the worse I did at everything off the bike.

I don't understand how running can be bad for you speaking from an evolutionary point of view. I doubt our ancestors told tigers "chill I already ran 2k this week."

Could it be the way we run or maybe the types of shoes that are causing harm? How about the terrain?

Don't listen to the haters. Technique and stride is everything. Stretch before and after and drink plenty of water. Do it wrong and over time you will hurt yourself.

Running is great for you. For your heart, for reducing water weight, mental health, burning calories. I swam competitively growing up but got into running more seriously after high school. Have done everything from a 5K up to a half/full-marathon.

I'd say to stay away from the extreme exercise (too much sustained long distance can really mess with your joints) but absolutely include 30 minutes of cardio (preferably running outside) at least 2-3x per week. Get a good pair of shoes and replace once a year. I prefer ASICS.

I was hurting myself with running last year due to bad posture, then realized once I corrected, I had no knee pain.

I've been back to doing 2-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes. I'll be training for the Corporate Challenge in my hometown in a few weeks. It will be running, biking and weights for me for 6 weeks.
