If Trump knows he can basically humiliate and shame the Norks through technological superiority, then he can of course walk with the biggest set of balls in the room. I find it surprising the number of respected and intelligent forum members who buy into whatever lies the media tells you about this tiny country who most of you have never have visted. Remember, this is the same media that tells you climate change is real, rape culture is everywhere, Muslims are harmless, and Shillary had a 90% chance of winning against Trump. The DPRK may have thousands of starving people and horrible prison camps, or it may NOT. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. One thing is for sure, I certainly don't believe any of the "secret inside view" TV documentaries and dissident refugees who escaped from the north, that the media parades in front of us ever so often. All these "escaped" Koreans remind me of is that Kuwaiti girl, Nayirah, who claimed in October 1990 babies were thrown out of incubators by Iraqis before the 1st Iraq war in 1990, who was proven to be a total fucking liar to play on people's emotions of dead babies. The same dead babies Trump quoted on television as one of the reasons to justify the recent bombing of Syria. Apparently a large part of these Korean escapees from the north, actually try to go back into the north after living in the south for a while, cause they can't cope with the selfish southern culture where people don't care about eachother. How come these kinds of people never get interviewed and get TV time ?

The globalists don't give a fuck about the welfare of Koreans. They hate the DPRK for the same reason they hate Cuba or Iran, because they don't control it and don't control their central bank. If I had my own country and these globalists were constantly threatening to invade if I don't do things their way, I'd be getting my own nuclear missiles too. They keep telling us the DPRK shoots missiles into the sea or over Japan, but we never hear what things the west does to them to provoke them. We all just assume that the Koreans periodically go apeshit one day and say "lets shoot a missile and piss everyone off and endanger our country". No, these acts are a response to something that was done to them. It's a message that says, "fuck off or we will fight back."

From the reports of tourists who have been there, they note that it is one of the cleanest countries on earth, people are polite, the family structure is intact, and men and women actually look and talk to eachother cause they aren't actually glued to their smartphones like zombies all the time. Girls there don't act like sluts with tattoos, nose piercings, and notch counts of over 100 until their aged 35 and then desperately try to find a beta provider to have one child with. Flawed as it may be, the DPRK still has a lot of characteristics of a patriarchal system of society that most of us would kill to be able to live in, instead of our degenerate western culture that is slowly dying. I imagine most dudes in the DPRK marry a virgin wife and divorce is rare. Compare that to the south where many dudes are hopeless gammas addicted to video games and porn, the birthrate is low, families are falling apart and girls all get plastic surgery to make their eyes bigger to look like westerners.

I'm not naiive. I don't think the DPRK is some kind of paradise, and I don't support communism and leftism, but I don't believe a word of the endless bullshit the western lying media tell us about the DPRK. They have been proven to be pathological liars about everything.

When I visted Seoul, almost everyone (both men and women) looked either annoyed or depressed everywhere I went. Huge difference to China where I saw people smiling, giving eachother eye contact and starting conversations with strangers regularly. Although that's starting to slowly change there too sadly.

People China often have their own family run businesses, while people in the ROK (south Korea) work for soulless corporations in offices for impossible hours like from 9am to 10pm or 11pm, including weekends.

Later I found out that the ROK (south Korea) has one of the highest suicide rates in the entire world.

For those who have seen it, it has nothing to do with TKD as it is known today (or ITF TaeKwonDo). Even on the South Korean side, their "Tiger" division was known for engaging in hand-to-hand combat during the Vietnam War:

NK's officer corps has been the subject of ruthless purges for generations. They have equipment that's generations out of date.
They haven't fought a war since my grandpa was 20. They're under the absolute control of a fat manchild who couldn't do 5 pushups.

I can imagine on the other hand there are a lot of special interests who don't want Korea unified in the long term.

It seems like keeping Un around is becoming more and more of a liability to China. A unified Korea with 1.5x times the GDP they have now would still not be able to resist a China that still has over 15x the population. Most of Korean culture historically came from China and they still hate the Japanese more. Seems like it would be easier to just use traditional diplomacy to dominate a slightly larger Korea rather than deal with this psycho and invite the world's animosity for keeping his regime alive.

The SK alliance with the U.S. is a Cold War relic that quickly loses its relevance once NK no longer exists.

My personal opinion is that the US allows NK to exist solely as a boogeyman. The most powerful country in the world needs 'enemies', such as NK, Iran and Russia in order to justify the massive amounts of money that are feed into the industrial war complex. There's something to be said for doing unarmed combat training, if only to toughen soldiers up and get them used to pain and working when exhausted. It builds confidence, and it's worth doing occasionally... if you don't injure a bunch of your men in the process.

But hand to hand skill is not going to be directly useful in 99.99% of engagements in a modern war.

The DPRK religion isn't Christianity or Buddism or Hinduism, it's a system that forces people to worship the state. The north Vietnamese had crap equipment and inferior tech and logisctics in the 1960s too, but the USA still got their asses kicked and left in shame in 1973. I'm sure prisons exist in the DPRK, but how many people are actually incarcerated in them, and for what crimes, and what actually happens in there is a whole other matter. Are you really sure everyone in a prison in the DPRK is in there cause of purely political reasons and innocent of all other crimes ? Are you sure you are not getting a vastly censored and edited view of what happens in those prisons ? Reminds me of the media and "survivors" telling me my whole life how evil the nazi camp of Auschwitz was, until I later found out the Auschwitz death camp had a swimming pool with diving boards.
