RE: 10 year old Autistic Child gets arrested.
About time. A family member of mine, who is a special education teacher, suffered a spinal injury while stopping an autistic student from mauling another student. The injury required surgery. I've volunteered to work with special education students in the past and you learn quite a bit about the state of things.

First, most of these kids come from broken families with single mothers and at best a step dad. If they don't have autism or downs they have a debilitating brain defect from their mother abusing drugs during the pregnancy. At best the schools can make them literate and serve as a daycare.

The state I'm in had to sanction a method that allows teachers to physically restrain children who lost control. Most of the kids have no discipline at home and the parents are quick to complain if their child mentions being disciplined at school(discipline at school being not allowed to go to recess after they punch another student). The police have arrested several children at the school my family member works at over the years. They usually didn't file charges and took the kid home. They should file charges more as a means to hold parents accountable for their lack of parenting.

Let me guess. Your family member is a female right?

No men around to restrain an out of control special needs child, so she thinks she is strong enough to restrain one, how exactly? She could not call for assistance?

Arresting a special needs child is stupid. If you are going to support this route, you might as well start post birth abortions for any child not fit for emotional control and good temperament.

RE: 10 year old Autistic Child gets arrested.
This story raises a lot of questions for me that are unanswered. I've worked with special needs and severe behaviorally challenged kids for many years. First, you have only mom's claim regarding his autism and mom's belief that he doesn't understand what's going on. No one associated with the school would be able to comment on that due to privacy laws. If he is autistic, there are different levels of the spectrum, we have no idea to know where he would be. There's no video, but the kid is quoted in the article so he can speak clearly. In my years in that field I was punched, bit, hit with chairs, scratched, stabbed with a fork, etc. Some really had zero impulse control or mechanisms to manage themselves. Others knew what they were doing. I'm talking about the kids on the autism spectrum, not the little bastards that just had major behavior problems and knew exactly what they were doing. It is extremely difficult work being with this population and no one, even if it's by a kid, should have to accept getting assaulted as a daily part of their job. There needs to be ways to protect the staff and fellow students. For the students that are aware of their actions, there needs to be consequences.

That being said.....
If he was kicked out of school in October, and arrested in April, that's just absurd. Also, he was kicked out of school but sounded like he needed to return for the mandated state wide testing. We had to deal with that shit in my state as well. With our population of students it was fucking stupid. All autistic kids had to "take" the test. Even if they just scribbled and stabbed the book with their pencils, that was fine, it counted. Everyone has to take it. The ten year olds that are on 2 second grade level had to take the test. So it's like "ok, you're just finally learning to read, but here is a test of what normal kids your age are doing. Good luck!" You can't even imagine the shit we had to deal with around state mandated testing time.

Mom was throwing a lot of blame around in that article. Maybe it was warranted. Certainly if an arrest was to be made it should have happened much sooner, six months after the fact doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But my experience is telling me to lean more towards what Number One Bummer just wrote. A lot of blame lies with the lack of quality parenting. Mom complains about the school not being equipped to handle her son. I would love to know what SHE is doing about learning how to handle her own son.

The fact pattern stated of "mauling" implied immediate intervention was needed.

There are supposed to be safeguards in place so that one person is never alone with the susceptible to violent students. But, unfortunately lapses do happen. A person steps out to take a quick piss, get a drink from the vending machine, or even if someone pops out to get an extra person from the room across the hall to come cover for them. Shit can happen quick. That's not the student's fault, it does lie with the staffing, but it's damn near impossible to maintain perfect protocol day after day after day. Especially if things have been quiet for a while. Without knowing more details, perhaps the staff involved with the "mauling" felt the situation was urgent enough that immediate action was necessary.

There could also be a money issue with the school district which caused police to be called. Based on the mom's last quotes in the article, this certainly makes it seem like this was not her son's first episode in the school. Again, I don't know enough circumstances regarding what class setting he was placed in. But if this was a regular public school, even if he was in a special needs class, they may not be able to handle him. He possibly would need to be placed in an entirely special needs school, like the one I worked in. But to go there requires money from the school district. Even money put aside to pay for the kid's transportation to the special needs school would need to be accounted for. Perhaps the school has tried to get this kid classified but the district wouldn't listen (because they don't want to pay). Now the school can say look "we have examples A, B, and C here with this kid. Now we have example D that was so extreme that the police had to be called." They can point out that he is too violent to be allowed back in the building. (except for statewide testing of course) None of this excuses the 6 month gap for making an arrest though.

^^^ This is why it is important to have school vouchers. School districts are loathe to pass up on free money to pad their bloated pensions and other benefits.

On a side note, I have absolutely no problem with them bringing back corporal punishment in schools starting with "special needs" children.

These special needs teachers should have one or two men in the room who can maintain order if necessary. Restrain the kids who refuse to calm down especially if they're acting as a danger to themselves or others. Have them sit in a padded time out room where they can scream it out.

There's absolutely no reason to let these teachers get whipped around like rag dolls by these children.

It seems like the populace has been successfully brainwashed into seeing "call the cops" as the automatic response to every little incident.

As a father to a teenager with Autism, I will withhold my commentary for now

I will add that contrary to an earlier comment, most of these kids are not from broken homes, single moms or at best parented by a step-dad. Many parents are doing their absolute best to juggle dr. appts, new treatment, physical/occupational therapy and medications.

That sounds like a blanket explanation I've heard expressed when trying to explain juvenile delinquency or youth crime.

Everything can't be explained away by "more discipline" or "better parenting"

What is diagnosed as "autism" are actually likely different conditions in high-IQ males vs. females and low-IQ males.

Autism is positively associated with IQ genomically and symptomatically and associated with high SES, and IQ and SES are presumably negatively associated with likelihood of coming from a single mother and/or a broken home. Not necessarily because of the single motherhoodratery or the broken-homedness per se, but also because of the notion that deadbeat dads and single moms are associated with lower IQ and thus pass that DNA onto their spawn.

Is this some form of empowered womyn feministe teacher pre-selection where they "weed out" those Aspie/autistic students who don't like to be touched (because those female teachers will be sucking the students' cock in no time)?

Oh wait...The teacher is a male...The teacher probably is a Starbucks' sippin', IPhone tapping, faggot who don't know how to de-escalate a situation without turning into a social justice warrior pro-police state faggot.

I doubt you've ever taught but the bolded section is being done already. And it was in this case: The man who was attacked was a paraprofessional, meaning he was basically an assistant to the actual teacher. That's very common in classes that have special needs children.

Some schools actually have police acting as round-the-clock security that can intervene and take students out of classes exactly as you said.

My issue with this story is the the police waited 6 months to execute the fucking warrant. School probably coordinated that to embarrass the kid. Granted the kid wasn't the school but they could've went to his house anytime.

I've a similar story as Number One Bummer. A family friend of mine was assaulted by a special needs student, who bent her thumb back so far that he severed a ligament. Took over a year to rehab properly. He was ten.

Ive noticed that fat bitches have kids that stare with that blank face in conversation. Its not a stare of understanding or attentive listening either. Its that stupid stare of selective listening. And then they just walk away or some shit. It reminds of benjamin bannicker, that serial killer in the early 2000s whose mother was on anti-depressants DURING HER PREGNANCY. Im done here. I wonder if every place that is drug riddled (united states, colombia, and soon to be everywhere except places like guatemala, and nepal) will have a bunch of benjamin bannickers eating people in their apartments in this next generation. Thats why I own pit bulls(bulldog pedigree).

RE: 10 year old Autistic Child gets arrested.
A lot of people have warrants out for their arrest. The police don't usually actively pursue these, unless they are for serious crimes.

Some people have warrants for a long while and some aren't even aware of the fact. It's not a big police priority to go after everyone who has an arrest warrant.

The school officials may have been pissed that the kid was never arrested, so when he was scheduled to come in for testing, they saw their chance to follow up and called the police in.

Good for them.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

RE: 10 year old Autistic Child gets arrested.
As someone who works is the education field, calling the cops on any 10 year old can be questionable on its face. That said, I fully support more significant punishments coming down on students shielded from responsibility by their IEPs. Understanding that their disability may play an important role in their ability to control visceral reactions, violent behavior should not be allowed with impunity. It is not the responsibility of the public to turn a blind eye or play the "oh, he's special. He/she doesn't know any better," card when violent incidents occur. The blunt truth is if your child is volatile enough physically assault another person over something as innocuous as humming (firsthand experience), deal with the consequences of their actions don't allow them in public.

Hell, today a school in my system had a parent lose her shit and threaten to involve the legal system over her academically grade-level son being suspended for two days for violently assaulting another student who had the audacity to stand in the "way" of the trash can.

This kid also pushed another kid down the steps earlier in the week and was only giving a "talking to" by the admin simply out of fear and frustration of kid's litigious and "never at fault" cunt mother. I don't know what more disgusting; the behavior, the bitch who spawned him, or that he understands, and apparently his past teachers and/or parents have ingrained in him, that it is not right to hit girls so if a girl student annoys him, he will assault the closest boy.

*Edit
The video was working for me before I posted. Now I've watched it. "Violent" autistic behavior is only borderline accepted or understood when you can tell the individual has autism from 20 yards away. No one would know would that this kid has autism unless they literally read it in his IEP or medical records. This is a classic case of an exploitative parent seeking an autism waiver for special services and accommodations, a POS, spoiled boy, and a doc who is probably notorious in the area for signing off on parent diagnoses. Good for the school.

I worked in a special needs room for a couple of years. In fact, the principal asked me to come in as "muscle" during one summer during undergrad. Granted the students we dealt with were MUCH more severe than this twerp in the story, but I assure you, there is no "talking down" violent behavior and for those of you who mentioned restraints, those can very easily progress to "illegal" force (and possibly even a sexual assault complaint if the student is female, you know how that shit goes). And restraining someone who is legitimately going crazy is more difficult than it sounds. Remember, this isn't like a mugger or drunk asshole wanting to fight that you can legally give the ol' one-two and knee to the kidney. You actually have to more concerned with the student's safety than your own. It's bullshit, but it is what is.
