Air Marshall Leavs Gun in Airplane Bathroom

The incident happened aboard Delta flight 221, which was traveling from Manchester, United Kingdom, to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on April 6, and was reported to the air marshal's management days later.
In a statement to CNN the TSA would confirm only that it is aware of an incident involving a federal air marshal on that date, and it is reviewing the circumstances.
A Delta spokesperson said the airline is also aware of the incident but declined to provide further comment.

Sources within the Federal Air Marshal Service said the agent in question is a relatively new hire who should have been placed on leave for leaving her gun. Instead, the agent remains on active flight duty, CNN has been told.

Anyone with law enforcement or serious firearms training... we all know leaving a weapon unattended is basically impossible. Its tantamount to leaving a child unattended in a hot car: You either have to be medically mentally retarded or a serious asshole.

Can you imagine the outrage if a male agent had done this? Headlines on every newspaper. She's still on duty. Pussy Pass administered.

Female air marshalls should be banned anyway. Close quarter combat situations cannot be resolved by firearms alone, shooting your gun in a plance is something of the last resort and not the first thing that a woman would be forced to do. Any man can overpower her.

I've left my gun in a public bathroom before. All of about 30 seconds. The sheer embarrassment of the situation and hoping within that 30 seconds nobody would find it (god forbid a child) made me mindful enough to never do it again.

The fact she's a woman is irrelevant, being irresponsible with guns should be grounds for instant termination.

To be fair, leaving her gun in the bathroom isn't something unique to her gender. I've seen a lot of stupid events like that happen in the military where people forgot shit.

What's remarkable about this case is the pussy pass.

This sort of thing isn't as hard to fuck up as you may think. DHS gets calls every day about guns at the TSA security checkpoints where someone forgot their pistol or ammo was in their carry-on bag. Many times it's cops that simply forgot.

I drove into Mexico once with a pistol. If you're not aware, if they catch a foreigner in Mexico with a gun they'll put you in jail and throw away the jail. I had just picked up my girlfriend and then said, "Holy fucking shit!" and pulled my .38 from under the seat. My girl said, "Are you out of your fucking mind? What's wrong with you?" I hid that fucker in a recess behind my tail lamp and was a nervous wreck until I crossed back into the US.

In another personal experience, I was sitting in my supervisor's office at an old job where we carried firearms. He got a call and put it on speakerphone. It was a co-worker and he was all out of breath and said, "Boss, I'm in Guyana and I've seriously fucked up." My supervisor said, "I know you're in Guyana; I sent you. What have you done?"

My co-worker says, "I just got to the hotel and my .40 is in my fucking bag." (We didn't have to go through security; we had keys to the back-passages at Atlanta-Hartsfield). But he couldn't have that pistol in another country without prior permission from the other country. My boss told him to go to the embassy and give it to a guy he knew, and that guy Fed Exed it back to the office.

My boss hung up and was like, "What a goddamn imbecile!" I laughed and told him about driving into Mexico once with a firearm, and he starts laughing and says, "You're a goddamn idiot, too!"

Shit happens.
