What did you do to become more interesting?
I realized that the reason why I have difficulties with conversations is because I'm not an interesting person. My life is pretty boring. I want to add things into my life to give me an interesting lifestyle.

What did you do to become an interesting man?

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
Work out.
Travel.
Join some kind of cause (whether it be helping out at an animal shelter or church) .
Adopt a clothing style that you research brands and names for.
Remodel your home.
Join the Toastmasters or a choir.
Get a dog (but only if you take care of him or God help you).
Practice a sport.

Etc etc

It doesn't matter what it is as long as it's something you can be passionate about. That energy will shine through like a beacon to everyone around.

You need lots of stories. If you can tell funny and interesting stories all night and do it well, then you'll be interesting.

Travel as much as possible and drink beer. Drinking beer is at the root of every good story.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
The things that make a person interesting are their experiences, their knowledge and their ability to convey these things.

To become more interesting start with finding things you can be interested in, the most interesting people to me are those who are most curious about life and how it works because they want to experience and learn about it.

Here's a good list I've kept saved for ideas when I might want to pick up something new in the future:

Have adventures tailored to your interests.

Travel is a good start, climb a mountain, spend three years living in a foreign country.

Having stories needs to go hand-in-hand with learning the skill of story-telling. The goal is to entertain. If you're telling stories and hoping that people will be impressed, you're doing it wrong.

very true many people will feed off your energy, and enjoyment of what your talking of. When I'm just talking to people I try to let my words flow etc. I'm working on it.

Cut out dozens of lame friends and sought a select few interesting people. Learned and befriend people who are really good at what they do, whatever it may be. Passion is everything in life.

Start businesses that yield passive income or as close to passive income as possible.

Through your failures and successes you'll learn so much more about life and about yourself than you would if you spent that time at a 9 to 5.

If you succeed, men will look up to you and women will want to be with you.

The caliber of men and women you will associate with as a result of success in this endeavor will be on a completely different level than those you associate with when you are a 9 to 5'er.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
Read a lot. This to me is the single most important thing you can do. The more you know about the world, the more interesting it will become to you, and the more easily engaged you will be with all sorts of things around you. Knowing about a wide range of things allows you to find all kinds of interest in the strangest of places. It allows your mind to always be engaged. A little piece of news, trivial in itself, becomes much more interesting when you see it in its proper historical and social context.

It also gives you a much wider range of things to talk about and find interest and common ground with others over. Knowing about Persian history or current politics - particularly the imprisonment of a dissident or some similar aspect of controversy, for example, might allow you to make a mundane corner shop purchase into an interesting conversation with the Iranian shop keeper. The more you know, and the more things you know about, the richer life becomes. You are able to form genuine bonds with people wherever you go. This will also help you develop tremendous personal confidence, and will make you more personable. The more you know, the easier it is to get past small talk and into things of substance with people from all walks of life.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
Give yourself a Purpous in Life. An objective to achieve. Make sure you set yourself a new goal before achieving your previous goal, always to be going UP the mountain. Always be in a state of searching satisfaction, NOT in a Satisfied state.

Do this:

Make an objective to achieve in each one of the 3 "essential" pillars of life. AND commit to reaching it:

1. Love
2. Health
3. Wealth

Ex:

1. Love: Bang 10 girls over HB7
2. Health: Get 38cm guns
3. Wealth: get 100k in your bank account.

Always try to measure your evolution monthly.

hope it helps

To "commit", I can recommend you http://www.stickk.com which I personally use. You basicaly bet money against your comitement, and track weekly your success. Works as a "slap" on your ass.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
In terms of getting girls...

Its not about "becoming more interesting" -- Its about APPEARING more interesting!

I used to do many interesting things -- but -- I was NOT an interesting person to talk to..

Why?

Because I didn't know how to properly present myself in an interesting way.

I was anti-social, I did not like talking about myself, I was a bad story teller, I dressed with no sense of style of fashion, I was a boring speaker, I was nervous around girls, etc.

I worked on these things.

Now, to be honest, my life is a lot less interesting -- but -- I appear more interesting to the public because of the way I talk, the way I dress and the way in which I interact with the people.

For me, becoming more interesting was less about doing interesting things and more about learning how to present myself in an interesting way.

1. Have experiences and stories to relate - see what others have posted for ideas.
2. Learn to be eloquent and well spoken in your language of choice.
3. The 2 above will add to your confidence level as well - and that is chick crack.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
1. Traveled
2. Picked up learning a musical instrument
3. Learned how to cook with some proficiency
4. Developed a genuine interest in other people

Number 4 has had the biggest impact in my life, credit goes to Dale Carnegie (How to win friends & Influence people)

People love to talk about themselves, especially if it's with someone who genuinely enjoys listening.

In-turn you come across as more interesting and people will pay more attention when you do speak.

RE: What did you do to become more interesting?
The quick way is to go out and make some imprudent decisions with your friends. Easy way to get two or three staple stories that you can tell to new people. Just don't tell the same story three or four times to the same person.

The long term way is to learn to tell things well. Master the art of good storytelling. I'm a big spaceflight buff, and had girls eating out of my hand over descriptions of major space exploration milestones. Ordinarily, most girls don't care about that sort of thing. It's easy to tell it in a boring way that signals "this man is a grownup version of the nerds I have always avoided." But tell it with passion, use visual metaphor, use emotion words, describe the personality of the people involved, and you can tell it right.

Best example I can think of off the top of my head would be Dan Carlin. Listen to the way he does his hardcore history podcast. Pay close attention to voice tone, to the way he stops to discuss the human element, and to the way he describes the visual. You can apply this technique to any kind of storytelling once you get the hang of it. That includes work stories, descriptions of your hobbies, drunk stories, aspirations and ambitions, that at kind of thing.

This storytelling shit is the biggest hoax I've ever heard. Girls don't want to hear your stories, no matter how "interesting" you think they are. Telling stories means you're gonna be talking more than her, which is bad. I'd rather listen to a bitch go on and on about her life and goals because that is more likely to get her wet and make me seem like a good listener.

Huh? Maybe I'm missing something but I have to strongly disagree.

If you go to a party or have a date with a girl at a coffeeshop, do you just run interview/psychologist game and let her babble?

How do you market yourself to them?

Maybe you're James Bond or a male model?

Do you ever watch stand up comedy?

I'm above-average in looks but definitely no model. My game basically consists of asking her lots of questions, follow-up questions, and squeezing in sex jokes whenever there's a chance.

Just the other day I was on a date with a cute Latina and within the first 10 minutes I told her "You and I would make beautiful babies". She burst out laughing because she wasn't expecting it and that joke set the tone for the rest of the date.

Hey if you can get a girl wet by recounting the time you and your buddies hitchhiked across Australia, then that's great. I'm just saying that's not my style.

I think you are onto something in that a person will find you more interesting if you are interested in them, and everyone enjoys talking about themselves. So communicating genuine interest in others is the first step. Dale Carnegie has a chapter on this.

Candidly, I'm not very good at this part. Cold reading techniques and some of the old patterns and routines from the Game are helpful because they conveniently prompt others to talk about themselves. Then when you have some similar, its a natural segue for you to share your story. By timing it like this, your story complements her story rather than competes with it.

However, its too much to say storytelling is a hoax. I have had a few things happen in my life that others find more interesting than me, and I have learned to look for opportunities to drop these stories into conversations and even embellish them. An example is that I used to have a stalker. She used to hide at bars and spy on me when I was out with other girls after we broke up. Then she would make a point of revealing herself to us at the end of the nigh. That was some of the best social proof I ever had, in a weird way. Women are fascinated that another woman would go to those lengths. And then I embellish, slightly. I let them ponder what could have had that effect, and then I suggest that I was probably the first guy to give her a G-spot orgasm.
