How does glasses affect attracting girls?
I wore glasses since I was 8 years old. I can't wear contacts due my cornea. I do have some girls check me out but it's not as intense as other men experience (or at least they claim to). A lot females in my family said they prefer men without glasses.

Any thoughts?

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
It depends a lot on the glasses. If you wear glasses that are stylish I think it is at least a net neutral. If you wear frames that don't fit your face shape, then it is a negative. Search YouTube for the right glasses by face shape. Some girls like em, some don't. I've worn glasses but have good posture and workout regularly so I'm in shape. If you don't look like a frail geek, you'll be fine. Stay fit and get stylish glasses and have good posture.

If you are stuck with glasses, then why does it matter if they hurt you or not? Your question is like a short guy asking if being short is a disadvantage. The answer doesn't matter because he can't grow taller.

Agreed.

But, as someone who has experienced life on both sides on this, no glasses is definitely better.

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
Glasses are a minus.

I saw it only turned around to a plus by few men:

+ wearing glasses that looked extremely edge - like matrix-like sunglasses, but in glasses form - one guy even made it such a hit that many girls would open him and wanted to try on his glasses, but he was good-looking

+ wearing cool and in addition colored glasses - blue, yellow, red, green

Otherwise it's a negative marker - like being shorter, weaker, fatter, uglier - women react instinctively to it and you are more k-selected vs. r-selected (good genes).

Since contacts are out, you can test with the cool ones or you might consider a laser-op. There are also methods how to improve your eyesight with obscure alternative methods. I know 2 men - both managers and older and reputable who reversed their eyesight from being highly short-sighted to normal by wearing this for several hours at home:

It supposedly works by straining your eye muscle and your eyes slowly adapting thus essentially healing yourself. There is probably some merit to this, since you can both destroy your eyesight via reading, bad lighting, TV etc. Then you should be able to improve it. One guy I mentioned went from -3 diopters to zero.

I don't think its much of a negative.

Warby Parker has some fairly stylish stuff, depending on what you get can be cheaper than similar frames at Walmart.

My current glasses are stylish, but they have hipster vibe to it unfortunately. I am fit with some muscles, but I am a small guy though (130 lbs, 5 feet 8 inches in height). But as long as I wear small size clothes, people in general at least noticed I am active. I am definitely not a frail geek.

I definitely can see glasses being a sign weakness/beta. I have seen some ways natural ways to reverse eyesight and am currently trying them out. I am at -6.00 diopters though.

It's about the way you think: If you have to wear glasses, try to find a way how to make them an advantage. Don't waste your time finding excuses.
1.) Get stylish glasses that fit to your look.
2.) Same for your sunglasses. More than 1 pair of glasses can be even better.
3.) Be confident about wearing your glasses. Play around with taking them off for a moment sometimes.

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
I may be projecting, but in North America I get more good vibes from a wider array of attractive females when I am wearing my sunglasses or no glasses, vs my everyday specs. I have no desire to do contacts because I hate anything coming near my eyes and they are hypersensitive.

It's rare that I don't wear glasses because I am pretty blind, but in situations like swimming pools or mixed classes at kickboxing, I still sense a slight raise in attraction from women.

In Europe, glasses seemed to make no difference. I found it easier in Europe, with less game at the time, to get looks from hotter women.

My friend in the US was once struggling with women. He slimmed down by about 10 pounds and ditched his glasses for contacts. Giant difference. I saw it happen.

So it seems to be a bigger deal in North America. The iconic image of glasses = nerd.

I wear glasses and it has only helped. I often times get compliments on my eyewear, and it also can make a good conversation piece as girls want to try them on and see "how blind I am"

I recently bought these dope glasses, I definitely do notice girls liking the eyewear and find it interesting as it shows you understand style. The cut is a timeless modern shape.

If women compliment your eyes, keep them. If you feel they don't fit your self image, go for contacts. If you can't, then you have to embrace them.

It depends on who you are.

If your ethnicity or profession is stereotyped as nerdy, glasses hurt you by confirming a stereotype.

On the other hand, if you are physically intimidating, glasses can help you moderate that, maybe even make you look more sophisticated.

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
For me, it's like my face changes depending on whether I'm wearing my glasses or not!

If I've just switched to glasses from contacts...
Girl: Hey, do you always wear those? me: No, I just put them on. Girl: Oh cool. They make you look smart.

If I've just switched back to contacts...
Girl: Hey, you look different *smiles*

Never. Fails.

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
I know the OP mentioned they can't wear contacts, but for those who still can but find them uncomfortable/drying out their eyes I highly recommend extended wear contacts. They cost about the same as regular ones, but are much more breathable and can be worn for much longer times (heard different things from different optometrists, but I wear mine for a week at a time, remove them for a night for cleaning, then repeat for the remainder of a month, at which point I use the next pair). I used to have glasses, but hated always getting grease/dust on them, having them fog up, visibility when raining, having them widen over time and need readjusting, and just frankly how I looked better IMO without them.

If I needed to wear glasses again, I'd find one of those discount eyeglasses websites (most eyeglasses cost is bullshit markup on designer frames), or travel to a developing country, and get several pairs in different style frames. Anytime you get new glasses you tend to get positive attention, and I think it would be worth trying a rotation of several frames to see if you can play this angle.

Good luck!

RE: How does glasses affect attracting girls?
I feel like I look worse with contacts because the blemishes under my eyes show more. With glasses I feel like the eye circle is blocked.

Also if your are 5'8 and 130 lbs thats definetely on the small side. Im 5'6 and 150 lbs and I feel skinny as hell.

I wish I could wear sun glasses 24/7 cause I look better and feel confident with them.
