Seriously there is no point to buy all these ICO tokens if no major exchanges are listing them. Surely you can flip some of the tokens on ED but for a mid to long term values these coins need to go on bigger exchanges. People just end up holding tokens while the Etherum price could potentially spike because of Metropolis.

If you believe in Request as a product it might be smarter to buy Omisego. These guys are listed on the bigger exchanges and offering a similar product. There marketing is also brilliant. They posting regular rumors on social media which always results in some great spikes.

OMG and Request may look similar at first glance but are targeted towards different functions:
https://blog.request.network/omisego-vs-...9d1f66675b
Quote:Punchline
Request: The future of commerce
OmiseGo: Unbank the Banked with Ethereum

What they really are
-Request: A decentralized network for payment requests. A universal invoice platform. (analogy: If PayPal was open sourced, decentralized and standardized)
-OmiseGo: A settlement system between eWallets (analogy: SWIFT between Venmo and Alipay, allowing you to send between both; technical terms: Clearinghouse and liquidity provider between eWallets)

Focus
Request: Payments, Requests for payments, Accounting automation, Smart audit, IoT framework
OmiseGo: Payments, Remittances, Payroll deposit, B2B commerce,
Supply-chain finance, Loyalty programs

Who are their clients
Request: eWallet, banks and payment providers, accounting firms, audit firms, B2B, eCommerce websites, Apps
OmiseGo: eWallet, banks and payment providers, B2B, eCommerce websites, Apps

More importantly, OMG is already sitting at a near billion dollar marketcap, versus $30 million initial valuation at ICO for Request. Where are you more likely to make a quick 2-3x on your money?

Good news for exchange listings is that following proper KYC procedures tends to make listing easier- that's why KNC was listed on liqui and now Binance just a few days after tokens became tradable (that and their team worked hard to make this happen).

I'm going to follow the same strategy that I did for KNC (sold off a big chunk yesterday at 0.0008, feels good man)- don't sell on etherdelta unless we're at least 2-3x and wait for bigger exchange listing to sell off a big portion while hype and fomo are in full effect. I'm pretty confident in a timely listing on liqui at the very least, given their strict KYC procedure and general attentiveness to potential investors shown by the team.

This is certainly no Kyber in terms of hype, but I would be surprised if I'm unable to get a 2-3x return for this bad boy, we'll see I'll guess.

I do not disagree with you that Request might be a good flip. However how much will be the buying limit per each whitelist spot maybe 10eth? So if the coin goes up 100% after it hits ED you will make a profit of roughly $3000. Don´t get me wrong $3k is not bad but it is not serious money. How do you handle these low limits? Do you get several whitelist spots using passports of family and friends?

And lets say if you manage to buy 100 ETH worth of Request how would you manage to offload them at the right time on a shitty unstable exchange like ED with very little volume?

EtherDelta first day volume is normally good. The FOMO is real day one and you can easily make some flips on it. Afterwards though its a toss up.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but can someone PM me about getting into the ICO slack?

No point buying Kyber now- besides maybe one last pump if it hits poloniex (don't think bittrex is adding anything soon) the token price will see a slow bleed down from this point on.

The reasoning for this is the following: even after declining from its peak it's still at a market cap of $250 million. As of right now they don't have much to back that value except Vitalik hype (according to him Kyber is the last project he will be advising) and a wallet on their github page- they're still pretty early in the process of building and testing their decentralized exchange platform.

On their timeline they state that their first release of their platform is in Q1 2018- anywhere from 3-5 months from now, which may as well be aeons in the current pace of the crypto markets. The point of this is that there will be nothing (that we know of right now) that would facilitate a solid reason for the token price to increase from the current value until they release their first product in Q1 2018.

[Image: DQmaL96CzF3L7pQhRiAtygWKJ4C5oBkNpSonjNKR..._1680x8400]

As it is I think their price is already incredibly inflated, given that their closest competitor 0x, which already has a working protocol built (i.e. actual solid code to back their value) currently has a marketcap of $90 million (although to be fair I think it's pretty undervalued).

I expect ICO investors to start cashing in their Kyber gains (still at a ~3.5x right now) in favor of more lucrative short-term gains. Sure we will see a spike in price when they actually release their platform but that's a long time from now- as I see it no point in buying something right now that will take that long to pay off.

I would like to believe that their eventual product will be legit given the quality of their lead dev (Joseph Poon, developer of the Lightning Network) and the fact that they have Vitalik as advisor. Given this, I believe the optimal strategy would be to hold off on buying KNC for a while, wait for the hype to die down, ICO investors to start selling off their tokens, and the price to decrease in reflection of this before investing.

Bottom line- potentially legit product, but best action would be to wait 3-4 months before investing given current price inflation. You want to be in a position where you don't lose out on other potential gains while holding bags, and invest at a time when you know a major platform release will shortly be on the horizon.

^Smart man and fully agreed. Also, I have a lot of stake in Kyber but this is accurate. I don't expect to see more gains until January. But gen January I expect to make some big $$

I guess you expect the gains in January because of the rollout of their product. But would 0x not be even further ahead by then? Also there are several projects working on decentralized exchanges using 0x. Just read this post in regards to it:

^I hope so. I have heavy stake in 0x as well. 0x itself is not a decentralized exchange but decentralize exchanges use 0x on top as 0x is a platform.

0x focuses on just Ethereum and ERC20 Tokens.

Kyber will focus on all of it eventually.

Request looks really good. Good find.
Note the emphasis on KYC, that's gonna be what determines whether it gets on 'trex which is where it needs to be.

Bittrex is not happening- the only coin they've added in a long time is some scam coin that no one really cares about (ADA). Also general consensus seems to be that the SEC is breathing down their necks so it might be months before they have that sorted out.

Personally I'm very optimistic for a Binance listing. Binance have really been on the ball lately in terms of quickly adding hyped altcoins- Walton (WTC), Kyber and LINK are the first examples that spring to mind. Liqui is also a decent possibility, but would be much more stoked for an early binance listing.

And as I mentioned previously the Request team seems to work hard to communicate well and cater to their investors needs (based on what I've seen on their Slack, as well as their activity on Medium), so when combined with the KYC procedures that they're following I don't think REQ will be confined to the depths of ED for all too long.

Since registration is closed now I'll be keeping a close eye on /biz/ and reddit- I've heard some positive rumblings here and there but I hope the hype will pick up some more as we approach the ICO date.

Request looked like a scam to me. Lots of slack members but very few are every online. Could be fake hype, I'd be careful with this one and make sure you do some digging first.

By the way, is anyone here one of the original 250 investors in kyber? Or were you stuck with the tiny cap like me lol.

It looks dumb.

ZkSnarks + Phone mining.

ETH is getting ZkSnarks in a few months (I don't pay attention to eth roadmap because hodling ETH is for morons unless you bought in below like 150) and its PoS will allow for "mining" from a cellphone as well. (At least, I think it will. Everything else is getting a lite wallet these days.)

It does nothing. Literally not a thing. It is 100% useless by every imaginable metric.

It will probably 4x from ICO price.

I'm on the lookout for the next Kyber and 0x. Make sure to watch out for it! Be prepared to invest a lot of money in that too.

If I could go back in time I would've done 0x completely different even though I maxed out day 1.

What's everybody's opinion on Airswap? The whitelist opens later today to get in on the ICO. https://www.airswap.io/

And Enjin Coin. The ICO is ongoing https://enjincoin.io/

Enjin coin has no prototype so I'm not investing in it.

Airswap is pretty decent. I like the advisors and it has a prototype. Token metrics aren't the best. They are only selling 30% of the token supply and they are selling 500 million coins (which isn't too bad in todays market). The cap is almost 30 million which is pretty good.
