Hey all - great to meet everybody. Been snooping around these forums and I felt like it was time to throw my hat in the ring. About me: I'm a young looking 35, Italian from the old country but I have lived in the US for many years. I have done very well for myself girl wise even though I am not an approach machine. Usually I meet girls in slightly more "normal" situations, online, through friends. I wish I could just bulldoze through shopping malls like some of you guys do and I'm working on that

Now that the intro is over: Colombia. I am in this amazing place for five weeks, solo. I would love to get some thoughts from the good bad hombres on here who might have some insight on my observations.

COLOMBIAN OBSERVATIONS

- I do not know if it is me but I am definitely not getting the "there is a foreigner in our midst" eye-fuck when I walk down the street or enter an establishment. Some threes or fours will check me out and down but the hotties really couldn't give two turds. This is strange because I am a good looking dude and generally I draw attention to myself at least once or twice a day from a hot babe. I'm 6ft, in good shape, dress like an Italian, have an easy smile. Instead it's kind of like I'm not that special over here. Could it be that it's because I'm Italian and I kind of look like the dudes here? I mean, I certainly don't look like a blonde haired blue eyed gringo from Arizona or something. I don't "stand out" in that sense. To compensate for this I have gone full GQ out in the streets and holy fuck is that weird - like... Tuesday night in Manizales walking around in Chelsea boots and a blazer? Yeah... no.

- my tally so far for my two weeks here is I have fucked two girls (31 and 27, in bogota) , got very close to fucking another who I am seeing this weekend (19 in bucaramanga), and did some making out with the fourth (22 in pereira). They all fluctuate between sevens and eights, maybe even 8+. However these have all been through Colombian Cupid and it just seems a bit lame to go down the digital Avenue when im in a city like Pereira overflowing with pussy. Truth is, with a couple of charming emails and one hour face-to-face i slay. Simple as that. Always have, always will. It's the more animalistic "approach" stuff that just does not come very easy to me.

- I ventured out by myself on Fridays and Saturday nights and fuck it is so intimidating. You see these gaggles of groups dancing like possessed ants. Hot chicks everywhere. But the dudes look like they could rip your fucking head off and everything is set up around tables. The music is so loud it rattles your colon with each vibration. Also I am no spring chicken so I don't have that bright eyed look anymore of complete amazement. It's more like "this will never happen" as I stare from the outside. What does one do in Colombia as a solo traveler in the evenings? When I went to Rio Negro outside of Medellin (following an old Mixx thread) I would walk into a place, have a shot of Aguardiente, stand awkwardly between groups of people laughing and dancing. And then sheepishly walk out. Not fun.

- Us boys obviously have sex on our minds 24/7 when we walk around in a different country especially one that is full of hot chicks like this one. But my experience in Colombia has been that the girls are actually kind of weary and even cold in day-to-day transactions. It's not like i stroll up and pull my cock out: even the slightest compliment, or pick up line about best places to eat, or a cool thing to do in town etc. falls on deaf ears. They answer with "senor" like they are giving me driving directions.

- I am returning to Pereira and making it my hunting ground for two or three days. I simply cannot leave that city without a real play in the traditional sense. For my own integrity and self-respect. So gents, what's the key?? Roam the shopping malls and run a few scenarios? Like ask the sales girl if a shirt looks good on me? Play the lost tourist card with a random girl sitting by herself? Is that what I'm not doing enough of?

- regarding the eye contact thing ... is it better to give a sultry stare like "you're a rabbit and I'm a wolf so don't even think about hopping away"? Or a beaming smile like "hey girl! I'm a ton of fun and so is my dick".

Finally, am I too old for this shit? Because god knows I love it and I feel like I'm in my prime...

Colombianas can be kind of cold. What are your spanish skills? What you said about not being of nordic phenotype might be related to the fact you don't stand out that much.

Finally, we like to talk to foreigners and discover why do they come here, so what you mention about standing in a bar with everybody laughing and you feeling out of place might be related to the language barrier. If not so, then we need more details. I say we, because I'm still a newbie who's learning. Cheers!

I speak very good Spanish, yes.

It's not that I expect girls to jump all over me. But I found slight resistance to even the most basic friendly banter. I wasn't sleazing all over them. They just didn't seem to care much at all.

Granted I also got some very heavy fuck me vibes from a couple of girls but none that I would consider.

Anyway, my two biggest questions are about nightlife (i.e. How to go at it solo) and day game (I.e. what approach works best in malls)

Would love to hear thoughts !

I don't recommend going out solo in Colombia because the risk of getting drugged by scopolomine is too high, four RVF members have been drugged and robbed in Colombia this year alone. As for day game, the same rules apply in Colombia as anywhere else in the world, approach girls, don't be a weirdo, get the number for whatsapp or Instagram then go from there.

No offense, but you're not special. They have all seen foreigners before. And Colombian guys dress well themselves.

As far as nightlife goes, it's best to make some local friends and go out with them as a group.

If you're as good looking as you say, you shouldn't be having problems. I know of several 35-45 year old guys who kill it.

It sounds like you're moving around too much; you sometimes need 2-4 dates to seal the deal. Why haven't you met up with other members for wingmen who can show you the right places to go? It sounds like you need to work on your confidence; it's extremely easy to get most girls' numbers and from that point you chat a bit and then set up a date.

I suspect you're used to American girls jumping on your dick because you're exotic and you're expecting the same thing in Colombia. In Colombia you have to do most the work, at least initially.

Your mistake, as written above: you should stay 2 or 3 weeks if not months, to get the splendid results you're dreaming of...

The times are gone (with a few exceptions involving alcohol and-or SEA), everywhere in the world, the times when beautiful young women would fall for guys just passing by... You now need to put in more time and effort, especially at 35. Stay longer, get a social circle. You're not a 22 years old hostel-dorm-fucking dude anymore (assuming those fuck 7s and 8s - which they don't but claim to be fucking, yeah sure).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but due to the tourism boom that Colombia is experiencing right now, the foreigner factor has eroded a LOT in recent years. In the 80s and 90s the foreigner factor was strong, but from the late 2000s to early 2010s seeing a foreigner (man or woman) now is a very common thing. It's better to have some decent game than being dependent of your foreign factor if you wanna get laid in Colombia.

Colombians in general behave like that since colombian cities (I'll better say the entire country) are not so secure (you can get mugged, drugged with scopolamine or easily killed by thieves if you try to defend yourself) and we usually distrust strangers who cold approach us. But when we see the real intentions of a stranger we open easily.

Another mistake that I'm noticing with some people (not only in Colombia but in other countries) is that they come EXCLUSIVELY for girls. The difference between dudes that kill it abroad and dudes who are unsuccessful is this: The first group don't give a shit about local women and the second group care A LOT, which puts a tremendous amount of pressure to get the desired local flag. Ironically not giving a shit about any specific thing (be it money, sex or whatever you like) attracts more of those opportunities.

amigo the place has changed a lot. It seriously used to be enough to be a gringo...not anymore, in fact it's almost detrimental.... there is still a niche of gringo hunters that will try and suck your money out of you.

Poor, smelly backpackers seem to have made their mark on gringo value. All things being equal I think it would be easier for a Colombian guy. No language barrier and she won't look like a whore that gets passed around by every new guy in town.

Maybe you are expecting them to unzip your pants right on the dance floor I don't know? But I'm no male model but in a club or bar girls would approach me once in a while or make it super obvious they want me to approach them. Maybe you just need better game? It's pretty easy to get a girls number or talk to her, getting her number doesn't mean much but at least it's a step in the right direction.

Don't overthink things, this one girl I met at a restaurant during lunch. I was sitting near the till and she was looking at me, we exchanged a few glances and when she went to pay the bill I asked her for her name and number, we banged the second time I saw her and she was young (20 I think) and hot. Some people think they need some really smooth moves when it's not needed.

I'd advise going out solo, it's less safe and you will look like a loser. It's easy to team up with some other guy or two you met that day and you will probably have more fun and it will be easier to game groups of girls. Get a couple guys, get a bottle and a table at a decent club (not expensive compared to western prices) and watch the bees flock to honey.

You said it better than me. This is one of the main reasons why the gringo and western European sexual value has unfortunately downgraded in recent years. In recent years I have seen many backpackers on Bogota's downtown and in former dangerous areas of Medellin thanks to the cheap airplane tickets and hostels.

15 years ago, the only gringos and Europeans that used to travel to Colombia were businessmen or wealthy people.

To the Italian dude - Stay longer in one place or don't bother.

In Medellin certainly there are none, in Bogota probably, if you consider simply putting on any type of suit or blazer "dressing well". They are for sure at higher level than Cubans (Like every creature everywhere). So out of those colombian dudes that wear something nice there is a small percentage that might go as far as choosing the right colours/shapes etc.

@claudio what you mean racism? Wherever I have travelled people have always been positive/neutral about me being Italian.
Some joke about Italian sex tourism in Brazil but thats pretty much it as I don't look like one lol

Only place where I have felt slightly hostile is, ironically, Northern Italy (terrone if you know what I mean) and Barcelona where people have called me 'spaghetti' and told me that all the Italians are ruining Spain.
Catalans are kinda of frustrated people though so did not really upset me.

Just to chime in here, I travel a decent amount of Colombia solo and go out at night solo too, and it's not really a problem. Use Uber or Easy Taxi to get there and back, don't get too fucked up, and watch your drink, and you should be fine. Going out solo isn't for everyone though, I think I've just gotten used to it, but it's better than sitting around and not doing anything. Just try to look friendly, approachable and do whatever you can to find something enjoyable in the moment, so that you don't look super awkward there alone. That will make yourself seem more socially acceptable when you approach someone or a group eventually.
