Recently spent a week in Mamaia in August.

Was supposed to stay 9 days but cut it short and fled to Bucharest after 6.

Mamaia is a beach strip next to the city of Constanta. The beach is long as fuck and wide, so its not bad as far as beaches go but the place itself isnt scenic at all and looks very dull. Not a place where you feel youre on a sunny beach vacation.

Most of the people are old couples.

Mamaia is only alive from thursday night - Sunday noon. Everyone comes from bucharest to party and comes back.

At other times its completely dead as far as nightlife (almost all clubs are actually closed) and the beaches are like a senior home.

I would not recommend it for a lengthy stay at all. Just go if youre in romania as a weekend getaway.

Where to stay:

Stay in the summerland area, near the fratelli/ego/loft beach clubs. Dont stray too far from that area, as that will be where most of the action is.

You might think other areas look close on the map, but its a long ass walk and taxis are dicks who refuse to use the meter most of the time.


Daytime:

Hit the higher end beach clubs, ego/fratelli/loft. Chairs there will be around 8-15$ per day in the weekends. Thats where most hot girls will be.

You may think the cheaper places are better for accessible girls but a) theyre not that cheaper and b) not a high concentration of girls.

Crazy beach and H2O beach can also be ok. You can walk around all of them before deciding where to get a chair.

Alternatively, on not so sunny days you can hit a couple of malls in constanta. City Park mall was decent for amount of girls.

Nighttime::

On wednesday night, everything was closed.

Thursday, hit Ego club. There is no entrance fee, no face control, but stilll ratios were good and girls were hot.

Friday Saturday, everything is open: Fratelli (has a 8$ entrance), Ego, Breeze, loft. Take your pick.

I went to Ego and Fratelli. Liked both clubs as far as layout goes. Ego has a party around the pool area and Fratelli is more like a standard club. Both have a decent bar area. Girls look very hot. The vibe isnt very pretentious but the attitudes were very cold. COuld not even get any conversation started 90% of the time.

I did meet and bang one cute but very average girl from Fratelli. Aside from that, no meaningful interaction or number even all week. I was aiming high but getting absolutely nowhere.

Neither was anyone else that i observed. Saw some very ugly girls reject guys that were lounge regulars.

Sunday: hit loft in the day and then Ego club has a bonfire party on the beach. The vibe is very hippy-ish but the responses werent.

The girls here look laid back but their responses were not.

Afterparty:

Crazy Beach and Kudos have crazy afterparties that go until 9 am. EVERYONE goes there and stays until sunrise.

Its not just the hippy girls, but even the 9s you saw at the club will be there. I was with the girl there but my friends tried to meet girls and were still getting the cold responses, same as the clubs.

Constanta bar scene:

There is an old town and harbour in constanta that has a bunch of bar/restaurant hybrides lined up. We went there on a monday and there was quite a few people but everyone was sitting on tables eating, not much drinking going on. Not sure how its like on weekends.

Random observations:

Romanian guys look good.
Saw quite a few black guys rolling with romanian social circles and they seemed to be doing quite well there.


Conclusion:

When i went to Bucharest it was a complete 180 in terms of attitudes and responses, so even though i liked the layout and vibe of the clubs i would not return to Mamaia.

Aside from the one girl i banged i got 0 good interactions even.

You could have tried Costinești in the off days, for sure there were more people there.

However, what you said sounds standard for the way romanian high end nightlife is. The only place that is different at the Black Sea is called Vama Veche (but again it is alive only Thursday to Sunday).

Thats what we were told but our experience in bucharwst was very different.

Our first two/3 nights there at high end places had us meet several groups of 7/8/9 girls, and out of my first two days there i had like 6 solid bang prospects, 3 of them happened and more would have had i not gotten lazy and stayed longer. The real stunning ones i didnt have time for but theyre still hitting me up.

Was one of the best nightlife scenes ive been in in the past couple years since nightlife everywhere has gone to shit.

^ was pretty good. Im definitely going back for longer.

My advice is go to the clubs up north and forget the old town except for Nomad Skybar, and freddo on mondays.

Did you do any daygame?
What were the girls like lookwise? How did they respond to approaches? How are english levels? Any other info? Ive read datasheets but interested to hear your take

I dont really do daygame but ill talk to a girl in the day if opportunity arises. I did meet one girl in the daytime and ended up spending most of the time with her when my friends left as i was burned out from partying all summer.

Other than that, i didnt really attempt any day approaches. The talent in the daytime isnt THAT great, its good but not mindblowing. Keep in mind universities were closed when i was there.
THe best place i found was the starbucks on unirii square. Thats the only day place with a constant stream of cute girls.

The parks and old town dont have much concentration of girls in the day.

In the night girls were very hot. Cant really describe them looks wise but they had very nice bodies, great asses. Probably the best european asses. Great english levels, never had a problem with that.

In the old town at night, girls are a bit ratchet in most places. Most work for the club or are friends with the staff and they pack them on the entrance to lure you in.
The vibe sucks, the music is annoyingly loud.

People complain about the attitudes in the high end clubs but we had a couple of great nights there, girls were friendly and receptive.

The ones i met were very clingy very fast, loved drama, it freaked me out at first since i thought i caught a couple of psychos but turns out thats the culture there.

Are they still smoking inside the bars/clubs ? Romania has probably the worst nightlife I've ever experienced. I was there in winter and literally choked on the cigarette smoke everywhere. You need daily laundry service just to get rid of the stench. It's very social group/table focused, people just sitting down for hours and hours, hard to break in if you're traveling solo and don't know anybody unless you smoke...

YeAh they were smoking but venues were outdoors, so dunno if they still smoke when its inside.

I can only speak about the time and places i went to, but every place had a busy and full bar aside from the tables. Who cares about the tables when you have a bunch of people at the bar. But anyway we met two groups at tables (only one guy between both though) and all the girls were friendly.

Id rank the nightlife above kiev and belgrAde. Kiev because the pros are too many and Belgrade's had shit ratio (in april). Bucharest was great in ratios and attitude. The girls dance very sexy and let loose as well.

Romania has nothing on Serbia when it comes to smoking or even Vienna. You would do well to avoid those places.Those are smoking nightmares, never had college age women attempt to force ME to smoke until i went to those places. Bucharest and I imagine most major cities in Romania have banned smoking indoors already.

IMHO this is not a good summer place, you'll see there a lot of Romanian guys doing VIP tables just to show to others how much they're rich.
