How to keep the power from your family who think they control you
So I'm a 28 year old Indian guy.

As you know, marriage is highly emphasised in Indian culture.

I'm not going to have an arranged marriage, but for some reason, some of my aunties feel they can control me and without my permission are getting me "brides that are very un attractive".

Who said I wanted to have an arrange marriage?

What's wrong with them setting me up without my permission?

It must be that they would get jealous, envious if I was to marry someone nice, so they want to control me for this reason.

So I've still got the power right? They cannot do nothing without my permission.

As a resident expert on Indian culture I can assure you that you're being pushed to marry because you're 28 and unless you're really something special then your options for finding a suitably young breeding partner are soon going to drop rapidly.

You will be forever dealing with your wider family's bullshit unless you do one or both of the following things.

Leave, or improve yourself such that you are 'above' them in social status (typically done by making a shitload of money).

You're right and I'm not going to argue on your expertise on Indian culture. I'm not even thinking of marrying until 30-31.

There are plenty of attractive Indian ladies in the Indian community who are aged between 25-30. Although I can go for the younger females.

BUT my aunties only pushed me to marry the un-attractive women. Ignoring the nice ones.

Thanks for the advice, I'm very ambitious and after year's worth of contacts and networking I'm seeking self employment. Whenever I say this, they go silent. They only want to hear the negatives of me then gossip about it to other family members.

I know these aunties want me to fail, they are just simply too insecure and jealous if I was to marry well and succeed in life.

I was only joking about being an expert on Indian culture, but some things are universal and this is one of them.

Is this the third thread you've started about your overly-controlling family?

Move out, pay your own bills and lead you own life.

Visit your family but dismiss or chide them if they tell you what to do.

Tell then "it's my life, I will make my own decisions thank you".

Sorry, but it is you who seems wildly insecure. As Suits mentions, this is at least your 3rd post about how controlled you feel by your family, and it's beginning to sound a bit trollish.

Did somebody call me to come show an Indian guy how to deal with his controlling family?

Na Jetset, OP comes up with strange posts, old profile recommended by a banned member (only one).
You definitely can "see" more than many of us.
