6/10. Basically the thrust of this survey is to attempt to prove that interventionist, government-funded shit programs ought to be extended, i.e. more gimmiedats.

And like painting the bullseye around the target, it certainly does.

Unfortunately, because it's wholly based on social science surveys, traditionally conducted by morons who don't understand statistics or falsifiable experiments, the collective worth of the survey papers is far greater as toilet paper than academic.

I think they do the exact opposite, because the social programs involving children were highly ineffective. And the basic assumption of social programs is that they're helpful for children.

I'm shocked that social programs targeting adult drug abusers were so effective. Shocked and happy, actually.

But to read that so many children/juvenile social programs don't work is an opportunity to scrap them.

Frankly I didn't most of these programs existed. I thought boot camps were just something they did on the Maury Povich show, not a actually gov't-funded program.
