Easiest non digital jobs to find for an expat?
Hey guys, I'm looking to be more nomadic for the year coming and I need a way to find work on the road.
What do you think are the easiest jobs to find as an expat, assuming you have the right qualification and basic understanding of the local language, in any at least relatively developed country.

Assuming that you start from scratch (you are not sponsored by your company and/or have connections in the new place).

Few suggestions there :

Uber driver.
Chef.
Bartender.
Receptionist.
Teaching a language.
Working in hostels.

I don't look for a "career" but highly flexible work just to make some sweet $$$ to keep on traveling.

Any other suggestions well appreciated guys Wink

Brother all of those things that you mentioned you should use the search function for. There is atleast one thread on each of those. If you have a question about any of those, ask it in one of those threads. Do not make useless threads because they NEVER get deleted. Thanks to you if i use the search function for this topic now, your baseless, redundant thread is going to pop up in the search and clutter the informative threads that already have been made on this topic.

Well, obviously if you own any real estate, you could rent it out while you are gone. As far as teaching a language is concerned, I would try to become a teacher on Verbling.com if you are bilingual or trilingual. It's not too hard to make 10 dollars an hr and more if you market your profile well on the site.

Actually not so much bro because most of threats are more for location independant/ digital nomad jobs. I'm just looking for "regular jobs" that can sustain a traveling lifestyle.

Sounds like a great idea man.

You have some experience doing that ? I've heard it's really hard work.

You could be doing all that, but I dont think you would be making "sweet $$$" out of that.
Exceptions are ESL in asia or being a Chef (a proper one).

I would say make friends/kiss ass with locals, they will be able to point you to someone that needs an extra hand. Also ask about work for lodging, makes it harder to bang living with a family but at least you have more money to spend.

I'm guessing he's looking for a more retail type job for lack of a better word. Most digital nomads have some skill they use to freelance like web design, graphic design, coding, programming.

Ohter people have Youtube Channels, affiliate marketing, etc that is more of a lifestyle business.

I think OP is looking for something non entrepreneurial to do ie a service business type job like a waiter, selling timeshares, etc.

I personally think that's hard to come by. If your a chick you can be a club hostess, waitress, bartender, having an English speaking person in many locations is good. That said I think the wages in most areas people travel to tend to be low and sometimes legality can get in the way of working in other locations.

The jobs I see most Americans or Canadians working in places outside of the USA tend to be signing people up for excursions or doing timeshare sales, not sure how attractive of a gig that is though.

Harsh truth?

Nothing.

Non-digital jobs such as Uber, ESL, Chef, etc. are dependent on how much money the local population has, and if you're in Thailand there's no way you can make "sweet money" from that.

The true ballers who are really living it are people who make North America/Western Europe money online with the expenses of living in a lesser developed country.

I've thought about running one of those free city walking tours for tourists that people do. Just network in the hostels and tell groups of people to meet you at a location at a specific time. Walk them around the city and tell them historical and cultural information about the sites then ask for donations at the end.

Yeah I think the only ways to earn money as a western male outside of digital nomad type stuff all boils down to something entrepreneurial. While walking tours aren't digital it is your own thing. Any type of waiter, bartender type thing you could do a local could do for much less money than a westerner would probably be willing to work for.

Same thing I was going to say.

I don't know why a Westerner would want to move to a Third World country to make the make the same shit wages the locals do.

Just find a remote call center job and decent laptop.

Scuba instructor ...... you get to work in some nice places, and all the 'holiday romance girls' you can manage.

There's also plenty of demand for adventure guides, hiking guide, cycling tours, off road MTB trips.
