I ran into a girl I knew in HS, hadn't seen her in a couple years. Talked to her while standing in a line. Texted her later that evening. I used the MAGA line because I was wearing a Donald Pump workout shirt and I could tell she liked it. Exchange below.

Helmsman: Do you want to Make America Great Again?
Girl: I'm sorry what?
H: Do you want to Make America Great Again?
G: You've peaked my interest.
H: And haven't answered the question...
G: Yes.
H: So you're not one of those Hillary girls?
G: No sir.
H: Good. I could use a shotgun rider to a party in XXX (nearby town) Sunday afternoon. You seem to fit the bill.
G: I would be honored. Let's make this country great again.

20min later

G: Omg I just forgot I have to work Sunday. I'm so sorry. It sounded like fun!

I think the conflict is legit, this exchange took place on a Friday evening and she didn't take long to tell me. My first question is from the exchange above would it be worthwhile to reopen in a couple weeks, and get her out for something else? Secondly, should I keep up the MAGA angle or something lighter if I reopen?

She could have to work, or she could've found something better to do, or she could just want to sit on her ass that day. Who knows?

Certainly try again, but don't overuse Trump game. It's fun and clever, yeah, but you'll wear it out. And don't wait "a few weeks." Hit her up midweek for drinks or something or see if she's free next weekend.

Lol it was good game to use as a ice breaker, but she could have flaked thinking of you as a gimmicky guy who was still using prehistoric game. Don't beat a dead horse to death with the Maga and let the girl know you got more in store. Variety is the spice of life. Women love roller coasters not one-trick ponies. I would Reserve weekends for special women and bring her in slowly with drinks during the weekday to gauge her DTF radar.

The approach does seem pretty canned but that completely aside, you probably asked for too much compliance. She agreed to it in the moment, but once the emotional high of getting hit on is gone, she likely got apprehensive about getting stuck at some far away party with a stranger. For all she knows the party is a Klan rally.

Hit her up for a drinks and "talk about the old times" midweek, tap into that nostalgia comfort.

Sent a restart text Tuesday night, "How was your weekend?" thought I could use that as jumping off point to getting her out mid-week. Regardless, she hasn't responded.
