A waitress in North Carolina got a $10,000 tip, and all she did was deliver two waters.

Alaina Custer arrived at work at 4 p.m. this past Friday when her boss, Bret Oliverio, owner of the Sup Dogs restaurant in Greenville, N.C., assigned her a table that would change her life. “The two guys at the table started sipping their waters and looking at the menu, and then kind of just walked away,” Oliverio tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

He then sent Custer over to see what had happened. “So I went over there and I wasn’t paying attention, looking down at the ground, and I’m like, ‘They’re not even here,’” Custer tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “And then I looked at the table.” That’s when she hit the jackpot. “There was a note on the table that said, ‘Thanks for the waters,’ and a stack 3 or 4 inches high of $100 bills,” Oliverio recalls.

This was just a stunt to promote their lame ass channel, which evidently works since they have 8 million subs. They already did this to a waitress and 30k. I don't think youtube pays that much though.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. This story has a "chick crack" element to it: i.e. a basic bitch receives a bunch of money for merely existing. No doubt some woman in San Francisco is reading it and thinking, "That would be so cool! I could totally pay off my credit card and then buy more stuff."

Damn. This $10k really probably did help the girl. That probably 1/2-1/3 of her yearly wages dropped in one shot. Members on here have to quit looking at everything so negatively. Both parties benefited because of this. I don't get what's the issue and the reason for all this venom.

When I was waiting tables, every now and then we would get these weird over-tippers, though not to this degree,and while waitstaff would take the money, it was weird.

No one trusted them, and we felt there was some ulterior motive behind it. The vibe from these people was really off.

When you work at a job where you have to collect your paycheck one dollar at a time by picking it up off a table, you already feel like dignity is in short supply.

Food already makes people childish, like grown up babies, seeking comfort for a mommy's nipple substitute. Their demands and their obsessions revolving around food are just like experiencing an unwanted visit to the customer's therapist along with them.

Now you add money to it, and you get all sorts of other odd and inappropriate behavior, people letting you know that there is a big tip for you if you do it right (There never is.) Or people threatening not to tip you when they can see it is extremely busy and the staff is running around like mad doing the best they can.

The worst are the people who are extra nice, because you know that all that sweet solicitude is coming your way as a substitute for a tip.

So, suddenly to have someone come into your restaurant acting like Glinda the Good Witch sprinkling wonderment on you, or like Oprah letting you know there is a diamond ring under your seat, yeah, you take the money because you are underpaid, but you know you didn't really earn it and you are extremely suspicious of the person giving it to you.

You know what I would have liked? Just pay me exactly what I deserve for the service I give you, everyone. Stop being weird and acting out your unresolved issues.

That would have been like heaven.

It appears he got famous/big on youtube from giving random people money like this. Presumably this is just business expenses for him.

Exactly...invest/risk/spend 10k to make 10 times more...but the main story leaves all that behind the scenes.

I'm familiar with this guy as well. It's not him being a "cuck," he does videos where he drops big money on random people a lot, and he seems to be making serious bank from it

The Youtuber does these stunts regularly for publicity, but for her - who cares - she got paid some cash.

He has 9 mio. subscribers and depending on the viewer-count, then he can make some serious cash with that.

It's likely a form of investment to him.
