Hey guys

I was hoping you could help me out here.

I'm looking for a way to make money that is not done (primarily) in front of a computer.

My capital is 3600 USD.

There is a huge amount of money to be made during the summer that could add to this capital. It is done by doing Airbnb on my apartment. For example the payout if the following months in 2017 was (USD):

May 3000
June was 1700
July 1350
August 1600
September 1600
October 2800



However It is risky because it is not allowed and could lead to the landlord evicting me.

I have some ideas about takling to a lawyer about what the landlord needs to do evict. If it is hard for the landlord to do it then I could go through with it until I get a warning etc.

It would also involve a lot of worrying of losing the apartment, it's really hard to get such an apartment in my city as it is centrally located (it is a rental with low rent). I have already done with for one and a half year but stopped when a letter from the landlord notified about airbnb not being allowed. This letter was sent to everybody so we do not know if they targeted me specifially, I do not think so.

I had an idea I would accumulate enough money and move to Eastern Europe - somewhere on this forum somebody mentioned there are companies that do Airbnb for you (you buy the apartment and they manage everything with the guests and cleaning etc).

Any suggestions?

You're renting it yourself and then just giving it out on airbnb? What are you paying in rent?

You're talking about subletting which has been done long before AirBnB existed. I have a family friend who does it on the regular without getting caught.

Actually one area that's a good option for this are beach towns in the Black Sea during summer. Annual rental is just $200 - $500 per month and yet in summer months tourists will pay $40+ a night in summer. When I was in Batumi I was checking out of curiosity on AirBnB and the demand was pretty big (such that everything was booked out). I imagine this can be done in Odessa too no problem.

So hypothetically you could go apartment shopping in April and grab a bunch and put them on AirBnB by June...

What are ways to sublet your apartment without getting caught? I tried subletting my personal apartment by just posting on Airbnb and in less then a week got a warning from my manager on my door.

Thanks will do. Althought he point was to try to not use the computer primarily when generating the income.

Yes. 480 usd rent. Then there is internet, electricity and home insurance. All in all that amounts to 600 usd per month.

Thanks. That is a very tempting idea and I like the notion of it, would definitaly need to do more research and to ensure I would not get screwed. I have never bought an apartment before.

Georgia is good because they have one year visa free and you get vodka when you arrive at the airport

That's the thing, it is easy for them to check airbnb. Can't give you any advice on that besides telling the guests you do it without permission, asking them to keep this in mind and not make a fuzz.

I spent 6 months of it. Often question in retrospect if I wasted a good chunk of my life there. I doubt spending 6 more months would had been better. But if you're 100% about making money then it's a good country but you'll probably end up banging a prostitute to avoid inceldom there.

On the surface Georgia seems like a bit of a promise land. Easy to stay, cheap prices and the people look fairly white (similar to Castizas in Medellin or Argentina).

But in practice I saw some real terrible nightlife in both Batumi and Tbilisi. Such that places were either outright empty or it was a complete sausage fest inside. Tinder barely had anyone on the app and I had very low right swipes from Georgian women (the only right swipes I ever got in big numbers were from Ukrainians and Russians).

I never really came across evidence that Georgian women actually want or pursue foreign men. Georgia's biggest fanboy Andrew Henderson ended up marrying some Russian / Polish women in that country.
