There was a recent thread here where everyone was highly recommending Panama. Based on that I'm planing a trip to Panama next month and have some questions:

GIRLS & NIGHTLIFE:
The previous thread talked a lot about how the girls are hot, friendly, and like Americans, but a couple questions:

1) Is prostitution a problem? Meaning when you go out are a larg percent of the girls prostitutes, making it harder to meat regular girls?
2) What type of look to the girls have? Do they look anything like Argentinian girls? Brazilian grils? Columbia girls?
3) Is the nightlife only hot during the weekend, or also on the weeknights?


DAYTIME FUN:
Panama city being on the Pacific coast, with the Atlantic within close access, there seems to be a lot of oppertunities for watersports and beach fun. Questions:

1) What water sports are easily available (scuba, jetski, windsurfing, etc.)? How expensive are the water sports?
2) What other day time adventure/fun exists?

COST:
1) How expensive is Panama city? A friend of mine that lived there for 1 year told me that decent hotels are $150+ and dinners are $15-$20. Sounds expensive.
2) What are the costs for: Clubs? drinks? taxis? food? etc?


WHERE & HOW LONG
1) Is Panama city the only place to be, or should we checkout other cities within panama? (one rule I've read here, and agree with is that the biggest, most well known city is not the best place to be. Any better places within Panama?)
2) Im planning on doing 10 to 14 days. Its that too long for panama?

COLUMBIA: PANAMA'S NEIGHBOR
1) Medellin seems to be about 350 miles away. Is it worth visiting there too? If so, how many nights in panama, how many in Medellin?

I pioneered Panama like 15 years ago. No one was going there. People just had really started to exploit Costa Rica at that point.

I didn't go to Panama City.

I was in the jungle hiding out, surfing insane barrels, chilling in a village with no running water.

Where exactly?

Do me a favor.

My info is pretty dated and probably not what you are looking for.

But I have heard Panama City is insane for partying, and girls (something like 70% of the pop lives there).

More safe than many countries in Central.

If you want beautiful beaches, uncrowded surf, and all the mangoes you can eat, you will find that as well.
