NYE Ideas
I've been searching around the forum for NYE ideas, ideally in Central America, Caribbean, or Colombia (Brazil isn't an option right now due to the needed visa). Would be leaving next week, on the 28th, and come back that Sunday. I had wanted to go to Colombia, but the more I read the more it seems like Colombia is a bad idea for NYE as it is mostly family oriented? Budget: High, looking to have a good time.
Open to suggestions/ideas!
Hotels are some what of a concern as from what i've gathered a lot of hotels won't allow guests? But we want to stay at a high end hotel, so if someone could enlighten me on that I'd be grateful. Note: Spanish speaking ability is nonexistent (french yes, spanish no), do realize that I need to learn Spanish for long term success, but what are the chances of ONS for NYE weekend in various places?

Correct. Stay away from Colombia NYE. All women have local BF's/Family they spend QA time with, and all dance clubs, restaurants, bars shutdown NYE. A few open up after midnight, but any girls planning to go out are all there with their narco Colombian boyfriends who are spending $$$ on them.

NYE in Colombia is not a party night like New York or 80% of the world.

However, XMAS eve IS a party night like NYE. It's ass backwards, but that's the way Colombian culture is.

The hotel "guest" policy applies to hookers ONLY, and believe me, they WILL know if your girl is a hooker or not. For normal non-pro girls, just register a room as a double, and she may have to register by showing ID, but no big deal.

As far as ONS possibilities during NYE, that all depends on the city you go to. I would target TOURISTS, local girls will have a social circle, family/Boyfriend etc that they will go out with that night. Tourists are usually alone, and looking to have a good time to take a memory home, especially in NYC.

Ahhh that is quite unfortunate. I shall have to wait till summer (and hopefully be able to speak horribly broken spanish) for Colombia.
Xmas is off the table though, my only workable time line is the 28th till the 1st...
Thanks for the confirmation though!

RE: NYE Ideas
My top three best NYE locations have been

1. Vegas
2. Guarapari, Brazil
3. Aspen, CO

Aspen wouldn't be recommended for a tourist just passing along though. My friends dad has an incredible party at his mansion every year, this year it's sponsored by patron and it's $100 cover + invitation only.

I was suprised at how weak Miami is for NYE. Biggest NYE dissapointment to date.

Next biggest dissapointment, only cause I had really no expectations in the first place, was Telluride, CO. Absolutely nothing worth talking about going on.

I was surprised at how weak MIA is for NYE too! Problem is people have looked for alternatives to the $100USD cover, and 50USD parking fees. Miami gets RIDICULOUS with door prices and attitudes go up tenfold by door assholes aggressively selling bottles before you even come in! You'll be very (pleasantly) surprised at how Fort Lauderdale's NYE is poppin! Lots of college "girls gone wild" white girls everywhere just letting loose.

Just head to downtown Las Olas, and don't forget to suit up! Every guy there wears the standard douche Ed-Hardy t-shirt and jeans, any man suited up has an edge.

Another note on NYE aside from the pumped up door fees etc, is that after midnight say 12:15 the clubs begin to die down and a lot of the people go to hotels or to another after party.

Sweet, thanks for the advice for maybe next year. I hear Ft. Lauderdale has a lot of tallent during spring as well. I've learned the significance of dressing nice in Miami. I was never really into fashion before (Besides snowboarder/skater fashion). I've been buying lots of nice clothes lately. It feels good to dress nice. I always think back now as to maybe that was the reason I never got robbed in Brazil, because I never wore anything nice enough for people to consider me rich.

Hell no, when you're spending that kind of money at the club, you aren't leaving at 12:15. On a normal night that's almost before most the people start to pack in SoBe.

Its ok it falls on a Sunday IMO so long as the next day, January 2nd is a Holiday. Most companies in the world are working the Friday Dec. 30th, and giving employees their comp day on Monday, so it can work out.

Regardless, NYE is too big of a celebration to not go out and at least try to get laid, so even if it it means all you got was a make-out, fuck it...there's always January 1st.

RE: NYE Ideas
NYE is fast approaching. If you're in the LA area, I'm getting suited up and attending this:

No cover, not concentrated to one venue, might be tricky logistics

I wish I read that blog post when I was clubbing in Iceland New Year's Eve and Day. Then I read Bang Iceland and felt like kicking myself in the ass.
