Ticas are notorious for pulling shit like this. They even relentlessly try to get pregnant by gringos to pin the nasty child support laws on the father. In costa rica, if you are proven the father, you must pay 2 years of child support in ADVANCED cash to the girl before you are allowed to leave!!

Ha ha ha, yeah sure, even if a girl could pin it on me and I was there for 9 months (i'm pretty sure I'd flee WAY before that), i'd just rent a boat or go to a remote border water area and sayonara Costa Rica. Bull shit laws.
