This is true. MTV's original business model has been gutted. All it can do is go further and further down the rabbit hole of shocking and sensational programming. Just as with porn, sooner or later people become desensitized to it and need something even more extreme. MTV has dug itself into a hole it can't get out of.

Yes in Australia we have 'history' classes at school, but it's not an interesting and varied history including European, African, Asian, and American history in various eras. But 'school' in Australia is a sick joke as a whole though, so it wouldn't make sense if they excluded the history classes from this rule.

This obsession with race in the US is just crazy and has to fulfill several roles:

- victim culture
- create guilt
- focus only on negative things
- somehow associate white people with everything that a few elite have done is akin to making a great-grand-child of a white slave responsible for being an oppressive shitlord
- white privilege just like male privilege is bullshit

The entire discussion is useless. That is why Asian immigrants - especially Chinese don't give two shits about the fact that they were badly treated in the early American expansion under terrible working conditions. They dusted themselves off and worked hard to become prosperous. The Japanese Americans spent years in concentration camps during WWII and they don't talk of any repayments for that. They all know that it is better to let it go and focus on what can be attained right now.

It is interesting how high this mountain of shit and lies will grow.

I never understood this. Well, of course I understand it, but I still don't see the problem. It was for the betterment of the world that they invaded and took. The native Americans and the Spanish were decades if not hundreds of years behind the founding colonies even then. The natives were certainly warring amongst themselves so there's no reason to believe them to be a peaceable, wise, holier culture, they just lacked the technology to reach the Europeans.

This perception that the natives were innocent and victims is misguided. It's partially true, but let's say it's completely true - so what? Everyone was expansionist. No great leaders emerged to unify the tribes like a Montezuma or Romulus and Remus. It's like an Age of Empires II multiplayer game. Some people were too preoccupied chasing sheep and spamming mills while others were steadily progressing to the Imperial Age. Why should cultures be sanctified for lagging behind in an era where everyone was expansionist insofar as they had the ability to do so?

Had the Aztecs crossed the ocean and taken over Europe, we'd be discussing a Shame on Brown People thread. Or what if Egypt hadn't been conquered by the Aechemenid Persians and Alexander the Great, and gone on to steamroll Rome and the Mediterranean, we'd discussing a Shame on Black People thread. Or if my own culture, the Chinese, had conquered Europe, this would be a Shame on Yellow People thread. And all of them should be unapologetic as well. Why are people retroactively applying a globalist set of standards to a time hundreds of years ago?
