Let's step back for a second and take a wide-angle look at what's happening here.

A women from India (info on her here) comes to our country, starts protesting everything in sight to make a name for herself, and drums up false hysteria about sexual harassment.

I'm not an expert on Indian culture, but it seems to me that the society's basic views on sex are less permissive than our own. Multiply this woman by a million or so, and you start to get an answer as to why there is such an anti-male/anti-sex bias on college campuses and bleeding into the mainstream.

It's because it's being influenced by an influx of minorities from sexually repressed cultures.

Why do I assume this? Because the same thing happened with my own people, the Catholics. We came to America en masse and -- what do you know? -- all of a sudden a priest and Catholic layperson were creating a "code of standards" for Hollywood (read about it here).

That was in 1929. Catholics were not anywhere close to a majority in the U.S. (they still aren't). So where THE F*CK did they get the authority to tell others what they should and shouldn't be watching? And keep in mind this is just one of many ways Catholics influenced the mainstream.

And yes, fellow forum members, I know you know those wild Indian girls or sex-crazed Catholic girls who went wild in your dorm room. I knew Italian-Catholics like this in college too.

That's all well and good as anecdotal evidence against my main point. But it doesn't negate the fact that as a group the people from these religions have an influence on the mainstream.

I see the ghost of my old Italian aunts in this woman. These women would go at their sons with brooms for the "sin" of looking at Playboy. Not a healthy attitude toward sex.*

Let me put it another way. On my dorm hall we had a girl from Germany who had a very European way about her and would walk around and/or sunbathe topless (until she was told this wasn't allowed).

Now imagine this girl multiplied by a million and placed on every college campus. Don't you think the influence of millions of permissive European women would influence the culture as a whole in a different way?

I do. And I wonder why we're not bringing these kinds of women over instead.


* I also don't see the value of the supposedly "traditional" elements of these women or their culture. When tradition means slamming your legs shut and screaming "sin!" or "harassment!" every time a man looks at you, that's the kind of tradition I think needs to be left behind in the old country.

It's nice to think you could marry a traditional woman who hasn't ridden the carousel. But I had uncles who married traditional Italian-Catholics and ended up in sexless marriages. From all accounts, the reactions of their wives to anything sexual closely mirrored what you see in this video. Just substitute the word "sin" for "harassment." And imagine living with this in your house.

There has to be a happy medium between that and the carousel. If you plan on getting married, be sure to find it before you do.

Speaking as a male of Indian descent, I disagree. Just because somebody comes from a conservative culture, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will try to change campus culture. Traditional FOB Chinese women are just as conservative as Indian women, and there's a shit load of them on US campuses - I never hear about them trying to change the culture.

I don't see any Indians pushing their religion on campuses - have you heard of Hindu groups doing anything on campus? I've never heard of an Indian telling a non-Indian how to live their life.

I'm not sure why this dumb bitch cares about BLM so much. The average Indian-American doesn't give a shit about other Indians (outside of relatives), let alone black people.

A lot of SJWs come from pretty comfortable backgrounds and are trying to find battles to fight to give them some self worth - hence people from middle class white/Asian-American background fighting for (insert whatever the fuck is the flavour of the month) rights.

Indian men don't listen to Indian women, I can't see anybody else giving a shit about what they think...

Have to concur with WalterBlack. I'm deeply involved in the Indian American community, always have been. As a general rule, we really don't try to change American culture. From what I've seen and experienced, we're all too busy making money (apparently we're the most successful minority in terms of money). Even when I was an undergrad, nobody cared about social justice issues. Dumb bitches like these are the minority - notice how they're never "successful" the way Indian people define it: technology, engineering, medicine, pharma, business. Always girls who couldn't get into med, dental or pharmacy school that are SJWs - what else are they going to do? But to say that Indian people at large are trying to influence American culture seems a bit of a stretch to me.

I'm Italian on mother's side and although the church and monogamy were prized, even hallowed among my older relatives, they were far from prudish and for the most part happy and enjoyed eating, drinking, music, laughter and I suspect sex. In fact they settled in what was then a heavily Irish community that was very censorious of their culture and lifestyle. Until they got to know them. Among whites in the first half of the 20th Century I think the Italian man Irish women and vice versa was the most common inter ethnic marriage combination. My Italian relatives weren't the least bit repressed although in today's degenerate culture they would seem hopelessly backwards. The motion picture code you refer to was named after Will H Hays who was a Hoosier of the Protestant faith. It wasn't just a Catholic thing, there was a widespread revulsion over the nature of many films made in the pre sound era. There is no doubt that there was strong Catholic influence that resulted in the Hays code, but it never could have happened without the sanction of WASP America, which then reigned supreme, and the cooperation of powerful Jews in Hollywood who even then more or less ran the show in that industry. The Hays code also ushered in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Yes the code was somewhat overreaching but it was a geniune reaction to the base less than high art that was coming out of the motion picture industry in the 20's, and like I said helped usher in a Golden Age. Now what do we have. Banality, special effects on top of special effects, bad plot lines and dialogue and lousy film after lousy film cramming the SJW agenda down our collective throats. That and you greatly mis characterized the Indian American community. They are for the most part highly educated high income strivers less likely to go the SJW rout than most. Not only that but they occasionally produce a Dinesh D'Souza.

You're spot on. I think that would be true in the US as well. Typical SJWs tend to be a combo of coddled upper middle class and being broken/ugly/failure in life. With Indians, whether in the US or the UK, it's taken to the extreme because the pressure to succeed and coddling is much more. Indian girls have an even worse upbringing than white upper-middle-class girls (if you can imagine that). In the most financially successful community, you can also expect the most fucked up individuals. Imagine 50%+ of girls getting in the health sciences and you're the one bitch who graduates with a BA in literature. Your only real choice is to be an SJW to signal virtue and go super hard at it to compensate for your failure.

And I absolutely agree, Indian girls and even guys can be the worst SJWs. People like this Zarna Joshi, Mindy Kaling, Aziz Ansari (muslim) and Hassan Minhaj (another muslim). Note how once again none of them have succeeded in the traditional Indian sense of the word - actors, entertainers, community workers - basically losers compared to the MDs and MBAs. So yes, we should absolutely be very mindful of people like this Joshi character.

But I stand by my original statement, which is that at large the Indian American community is not influencing American culture. I'll address the anti-male/anti-sex thing at the end. As I said, I'm heavily in the crowd and the conversations I hear are always about normal stuff, like career, money, girls, working out. I can't think of a time someone actually said: "You know, I really don't like this part of American culture, we should change it."

And perhaps it's not so surprising - what do a Gujarati Patel (business people), Jatt Sikh (farmers) and Bengali Muslim (scholars) really have in common besides skin color? Some are really into drugs and alcohol, some are OK with arranged marriages, some are vegetarians, others eat everything, a lot are in the medical fields, others in the motel/hotel industry. I see very little cohesion with respect to a lot of things. With most of my friends, I share nothing in common except
a) skin color
b) we hate how stuck up Indian girls are
c) we're young professional millennials

Even politically, we're a weird bunch. Unfortunately, most of us are registered Democrats. But I know quite a few that are conservatives - I would hypothesize we might have the largest pro-Trump percentage out of any minority. Though there's no data for it and it would probably still be a paltry minority. But then again, the biggest donor to Trump is apparently an Indian guy who runs the Republican Hindu Coalition. So go figure.

Now, did Indian Americans have an influence on the anti-sex/anti-male environmentment on campus? I don't know. Yeah, there's the few super crazy Indian SJWs, but by and large the Indian girls I know from multiple colleges - they stick to Indian cultural stuff like Bhangra, Raas, Indian Student Association, Indian sororities. I really can't think of any Indian girl I know who was pushing an anti-sex thing actively. Even passively, the vast majority of Indian guys and girls were getting into relationships (predominantly within the Indian community) and getting it on. I actually found Indian girls to be more slutty than white girls. Lots of crazies, hoes and cheating going on all around.

The reality is that Hinduism has no rigidness to it - besides karma and the gods, there's really no unifying principle or guidance. At best, you could say all Hindus should follow their 'dharma', which roughly translates to 'doing your duty in life' (and it's up to you to figure out what that is). At worst, the vast majority of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains are that in name only. When a large majority of Jains drink alcohol, or Sikhs don't wear a turban - American culture has had a much more significant influence on Indians than the other way around.

That said, I do think DoBa has a point - I'm very annoyed at toolbags like Aziz Ansari and I do worry that especially with the 3rd generation, there's going to be a lot of losers who will have the time and luxury to want to influence American culture. It might happen within a decade or two. Maybe even sooner. Expect many more crazy Indian SJWs - assuming SJWs is still a thing. The moment being an SJW or feminist stops being a thing, expect Indian SJW to toe that line as well. Indian people tend to follow upper class white people's example.
