You can now get paid to watch porn (and browse the web in general).

This is not clickbait.

Even you no fap bros can go on Pornhub and practice your self-control while still going Super Saiyan (and getting paid to do so).

How?

A new web browser called Brave recently launched their Ads feature, which lets you agree to viewing ads in exchange for money.

I believe this has the chance to be the Google Chrome killer:

• Very fast: IMO one of the big reasons people switched to Chrome is because it was fast. No joke, this shit is even faster than Chrome, way faster.
• Legit team: The CEO of Brave is Brendan Eich, who worked at Netscape (the OG web browser), made JavaScript, and co-founded Mozilla (Firefox, etc). Unfortunately he was ousted from Mozilla because he donated $1,000 to a bill that tried to ban gay marriage in California.
• Legit crypto: This is technically a crypto (Bitcoin, etc.) project. This has a chance to work though since BAT, the crypto for Brave, powers the entire ecosystem, which already has people like Twitch and Vice on board. You're going to be one of the earliest adopters - imagine being one of the first millionaires from watching porn
  

I used Brave several months ago when it was in its early stages and it's come a LONG way since then.

The browser is fast as fuck (as it was then) but also extremely smooth now. Plus I can now add plugins, etc. that I used with Chrome.

So, would you rather get paid to do something you're gonna do anyway (use the Internet) or let the overlords at Google harvest your attention for profit, while giving you none of the pie?

Seems like a pretty obvious choice to me.

According to Brave you might be able to make $60-70 / year by viewing ads in the Brave browser; and about $225 in 2020.

Brave are offering "$5" for each referral to download their browser.

This is all paid in crypto BAT tokens, which are about the 20th highest capitlised crypto, which good growth this year. One of the few do fair well in the recent crash.

These are also distributed to publishers (including Roosh), but it seems payouts are tiny so far. I read that archive.org (one of the biggest beneficiaeries of this scheme) have only earned $2,500 so far. But it's certainly something that has promise.

Currently about 0.5-1% of people in the US use Brave.

A similar offer is you can get paid (at current) about $0.01 per search for using the decentralised search engine PreSearch. At current it just routes your search through to Google, or another engine of your choice. In the past you got $0.05 per search. I suspect it will head back towards that in the future. And $1 to refer people (was $5). Change is due to fall of crypto markets. There are currently somewhere in the region of 300K-400K daily users of PreSearch.

One issue with all this is that these schemes are backed off of hordes of tokens, whose value is almost wholly speculative. There is no reason you should get paid $0.01 per search (Google earns about $0.015 per search). It's just a gimmick to get people into the system. But so far in crypto, operation gimmicks are unicorns in a field of whitepapers, unused currencies and products in development.

If you're lucky and the tokens are adopted en masse, then you could make some good gains from getting in now. But BAT is already massively overvalued due to speculation. PreSearch could be a better 10X+ bet. Good people on board with that project including a co-founder of Ethereum and former CEO of Blekko.

I already use Brave but not the specific feature by the way, it's a browser I highly recommend

Just downloaded Brave. For me personally, already using uBlock on Chrome I didn't notice much difference in browsing experience. But it is very cool that for the tech illiterate folks there is now a browser that blocks all ads by default.

BTW on Coinbase Earn my account was only eligible for XLM for $10. The others say "Join the Waitlist", any idea what the deal is there? Ideally I'd like to get the bounties on each of the different coins.

Watching ads for money is the equivalent of a girl getting paid (or free stuff) for Instagram attention whoring.

At least in my opinion.

I'm not against advertising if you're good at something (runners get free shoes or clothes, BJJ, other sponsored). It just seems to be strange if you have to actively promote a brand or product.

For me it's just different...wearing free stuff vs actively promoting for free stuff. Especially if it's not really your career, it's just your hobby.

Sounds like a great idea for those who couldn't care less about their privacy. Brave and BAT require KYC information to earn tokens. In addition Brave is based off of Google Chrome.
