If it were a man, he'd get at least 13 years. The average sentence for aiding and abetting terrorism (WITHOUT a security clearance) is 13.5 years in federal prison.

This sack of shit gets a slap on the wrist. And she worked with a security clearance, probably TS-SCI.

The only thing I can think of--and this is a big, big "maybe"--is that she was a covert agent being used as part of a humint operation. But that's probably giving the government too much credit. More likely is that they're trying to bury this story.

Fucking infuriated by this. Total insult to our men in the field.

Interesting. Born in Czech, raised in Germany. She came to the USA married to an American GI. She was still married to the guy at the time of these events, at least legally. 38, no mention of kids.

She was seduced online. She got his social media and messaging account IDs through NSA/CIA stuff, presumably to passively read them. She kept "sole access" to one Skype account of his. That must have been where they chatted. She lied to the FBI, said she was going to Germany to visit relatives. Then she went to Turkey to meet Cuspert, then Syria.

Not only a lenient sentence, her face blurred on media. The full white girl pass.

"She now works as a hostess in a hotel lounge."

Stories don't mention kids, possible husband was sterile and she got baby rabies.

Stories say she was a contract interpreter working at FBI in Indianapolis. If she was in DC area would be more shady, but who knows that could have been cover.

Prosecutor seems to have given a strong statement regarding her cooperation. Presumably she was polygraphed regarding sharing secrets.

Most likely explanation is this bad-boy squinting at her on Skype and spitting game in her native language got her wet and compelled her to "just meet him" in Turkey. Then she got the dicking, well, one thing led to another . . .

Even as cuck-patron-saint Louis CK indirectly pointed out, middle-aged mothers occasionally drown their kids in bathtubs and we just shrug our shoulders.

But then we read some more and think some more, and it's like, "oh, 38 years-old... may or may not have children... in any case, not her first rodeo... definitely has been drilled out before... actually this story sounds kind of fishy entirely, irrespective of whoever this woman may or may not be..." and our investment in the story starts decreasing exponentially.

The hijinks of middle-aged mothers veruss childless girls in their teens and 20s are completely different matters entirely.

The former results in watercooler jokes, the latter can tear civilizations apart.

Just look at the stories of teenagers and girls in 20s who have packed up for Syria after meeting an ISIS guy online. There have been several.

The only thing unusual about this story is the FBI angle.

I've seen many of those stories, as well. Those stories are each also of dubious veracity, but I can pretend that they're all true--I'm indifferent.

Perhaps all else equal, younger girls are more "prone to bad-boy game."

However, not all else is equal. Younger girls have infinitely more options than expired women. Thus, expired women are much more prone to grasping at straws and thus more apt to do zany things like participating in swingers' clubs; absconding with terrorists; sex-tourism in low-IQ, high-thirst locales; etc. etc.
