Industrial metal band Ministry debuts song "Antifa"
To be honest I have never paid attention to Ministry, none the less I am plugged into what goes in metal music news. Blabermouth reported on this, the comments on both Blabermouth and their Facebook post is optimistic considering the song's pro antifa leanings. Al Jurgson's anti-Trump rants from the past year seem to inform the song's leaning.

I guess if you're as washed up as Al Jurgson is then that George Soros money seems like a good deal.

I thought Ministry had disbanded in 2004/6?

Man, the singer looks like he d be better located in an old lake cabin shop teaching kids how to fish with worm bait

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

I'm not surprised. Both he and Trent Reznor made completely underwhelming albums bitching about George W. Bush.

25 years ago this stuff was fresh and edgy, now it's just pathetic.

They did, but for whatever reason they're back. I guess Al Jurgonson thought that he could make more money under the Ministry name as apposed to Surgical Meth Machine.

Surprised they didn't wheel Al out. Did you see Dave Navarro watching from backstage? Also some 1993 Kim Thayil wanna-be far stage left, at first I thought it was Kim. Al has been putting this type of stuff out for 30 years. I watched them burn an effigy of George Bush 1 at Lollapalooza 1992. It worked for them then, so I guess they need money now, thats why these guys tour. Their last good album was Filth Pig. That festival looked pretty good but I dont think I could hang with that crowd anymore.

Pretty much every band that made a living off bitching about the government and military took an 8-year break to remain PC.

They are all back now with new albums talking about the same old crap. They'd never admit it, but Trump is good for their business, too.

This cocksucker Jourgensen once protested the NWO, now he's shilling for it.

With either St. Barrack or St. Hillary around, these "anti-system" bands wouldn't say a word. Despite the fact that both of those turds are not only Wall Street/Intelligence Community approved, but preferred.

Go wash your hair, Jourgensen. Isn't grandpa a little too old to have dreadlocks?

He pretty much kicked off the trend amongst white upper-class weed dealers.

He's what now? In his early 60's? This teenage angst "fuck you, dad!" shit is way-past it's shelf-life coming out of him. Who is he trying to rile up, anyway? The antifa fat chunk and scrawny weakling demographic? They're triggered by milk, FFS. Nice revolutionary army ya got there, Lenin would be so pleased. The establishment is pissing itself --- with laughter, not fear. Especially since they know these dummies are doing their bidding.

Plus, old guy with dreads? Yeah, if you're a Jamaican rasta elder. Not an ex-junkie old white man.

Ministry had one album that was good for its era and Als been putting out nothing since. The guy literally has like 15+ albums out between different bands and I bet most people can name one, maybe two

I think most of the original Ministry is dead, except for Al of course. They spent the late 80s/early 90s shooting and snorting.

Duh. They put out an album with a track called "99 percent". Occupy Wall Street then morphed into BLM, which is now Antifa. Same brownshirts.

I love "Jesus Built My Hotrod," though. The Butthole Surfers bring back some positive memories of high school.

These guys are more hardcore than NIN but the songwriting usually blows, so they resort to political posturing. KMFDM is my favorite industrial band.

Trump wasn't kidding about creating jobs. Half of the limp wristed cucks on Comedy Central and the MSM make a living off whining about him, and creating fake news. And he continues to trigger the snowflakes and drink their tears day after day.

^^^ Right? The left wing muscians have a job again. Rage Against the Machine is supposdily making a comeback some time soon.

Back in 2008 I read an article that basically predicted the rise of EDM thanks to Obama.

RE: Industrial metal band Ministry debuts song "Antifa"
Jourgensen's politics have always been left of center, but if you can separate your art from your politics, he deserves respect as an industrial rock trailblazer. My favorite industrial track ever is a cover of Black Sabbath's "Supernaut," by a Jourgensen/Reznor side project called 1000 Homo DJs. Damn did I get out some aggression stomping around to that track in the clubs as a youngster. Good times.

Quote:Their last good album was Filth Pig.

Disagree. I was a huge industrial fan during the golden years, and I thought all the Ministry albums up until "Filth Pig" were great (the synth-poppy debut excepted, bleh). "Filth Pig" is when they lost the plot. The drugs were taking over at that point and their fast, aggressive industrial-metal style gave way to sludgy, plodding, smack-addled noodling. Thank goodness Jourgensen mined his addiction to crank out the awesome, autobiographical "Just One Fix" before spiraling down into the creative abyss of "Filth Pig" and beyond.

Yes, great band. Saw them open for Ministry at The Channel in Boston in 1990. I had never heard of them before that show, but they were great. Damn, what an amazing show.
