Did anyone else catch that post game interview with Metta World Peace tonight? The guy is funny as hell and the interviewer tried to bring him down in the interview and he just danced around the questions perfectly and self promoted like a champ. He is aloof and possesses that doesnt give a shit attitude. so what is the verdict on Artest....Alpha or Degenerate?

Ron Artest has mental issues. Like for real mental issues that need medication.

^ You would be surprised how many successful men have a few loose screws. You need to be a tad nutty to excel to the top.I vote Alpha. the difference is that ppl who are insane manipulate but always get taken advantage off. If they can manipulate and still control situations they are slick and Alpha. That's the difference between a nut case and a walk street banker.

That is true but I feel Ron is not alright in the top bunk. Some of the stuff he has done, is just off balance.

You look at some guys in the NBA, and you think, "Wow, they are cool." Like Kevin Garnett.

And you look at other guys and they seem so laid back. Like Derrick Rose or Tim Duncan.

And then you look at a guy like Ron Artest. And you think, "Uh, oh, mentally deranged."

Yup. Artest has serious issues but he's kept it together enough to do well in the NBA and seriously intimidate a lot of players. I don't like the guy but you have to give him credit for keeping it (vaguely) together.

Ronnie has some underlying issues definitely, but degenerate? No. He's closer to Alpha than anything else. What he did the James Harden was crazy as fuck - on the court, something else comes out in him, but Ronnie definitely runs shit, even if it's to his detriment sometimes. The NBA holds a rookie symposium at a hotel somewhere to try to introduce first year players to some of what they'll encounter as professional athletes. Veteran players come in to talk to them. They have people come in to act out scenarios they'll face with women, friends and family once they have money and fame. Ronnie got fined for missing a session of the symposium because he was upstairs banging out a groupie! At the very symposium that was discussing avoiding these kinds of women! Precious.

Honestly, I understood where he was coming from when he flipped out in Detroit. Ben Wallace shoved him hard in the chest at the end of the game for NOTHING (Indiana came into their building and beat them, and Ron contested a shot in the final seconds, even though the win was in the bag). Because it was Ron, who has a reputation for being relentless (not dirty...which made the Harden thing out of character for him), caused Wallace to lose his cool. Ron had every right to punch Wallace in his face, but he walked away. He layed down on the scorer's table (yes, crazy, but that's Ron), and someone throws a drink on him. Many NBA players talk about some of the things fans do and say to them. Spitting on them. Throwing things. Saying some of the most vicious things. Charles Barkley had a couple of incidents where HE spit on fans that cursed at him (one time hitting a little girl...OOPS). I honestly can understand why he snapped. Someone threw a drink on the wrong cat. No amount of money I guy earns can make it okay for someone to do that. Fans pay for the right to boo, or otherwise voice your displeasure within reason. But if you get to within a few feet of a player and say something vile to him, you can't play victim if you get the shit knocked out of you. You made it personal.
