RE: Making money Online
How many online business models can you name?
1. Affiliate marketing
- Drive traffic for paying websites using YOUR personal strategy
requirements: creativity, tech-saviness
con: hard to get established, low pay
2. Sell information products
- Write ebook, articles, news
requirements: good writing, good ideas
con: without enough volume equals low pay, market is saturated with tons of copycats.
3. Sell physical product
- well wtf, you sell shit of course!
requirements: inventory + capital
con: you're competing with the big boys Amazon, and i hate putting my credit info to some unknown site
4. Spam industry
- capture information, sell information; spam good people
requirements: amoral attitude, willingness to be an ass
con: you are a con
5. Technology
- build something technical (or uses something technical) before someone else does
requirements: bury self in books for months/years
con: outsourcing
what other ways are out there?

OP,if you're serious about online moneymaking do what I did. 3 years ago I was personally trained by a futures trader. The first year I made like 30% ie ,I made all the beginners mistakes, winning and losing a lot. The 2nd year as a better trader I noticed fewer trades but better margins. Now I'm still shorting the dollar without breaking a sweat.
Of course things don't always go according to plan. This past 2 weeks I only made 10% ,a record low because I generally avoid gold;too volatile and the money markets have generally caught me sideways.
It happens occasionally-at the same time I've made up to 400% in one week in August last year.Take it from me fx trading is for real-BUT PAY A REAL TRAINER OR ENROLL IN A COURSE! DON'T FALL FOR THE INTERNET HYPE!

Quite informative.....
also you can have another form of online business model named
6. Subscription Site/ Pay per site
Here you can charge certain amount of fees on visitors of you site and also can offer them any kind of subscription of your product. Such as songs, video etc... First of all for that you have to offer them any demo or basic information of your product or content for free of cost as a promotion.

I was thinking about some type of legit investment where you can put in a certain amount of money and it will increase in profit through trading. Is there any such thing?
Not my field of expertise but ever look into Forex trading? I know few guys that make a good living from it. Helps them travel non-stop as long as they have internet.
I still have doubts on financial trading online. I assume traders who survive are obsessed with it. I bet their brain circuitry had already rewired itself to spot opportunities through sheer amount of time they spend on it. This is their world of war craft.
I'm guessing a minimum of 3 years of hardcore study of the markets. Then 7 years to start making consistent profits. No guarantees.
Way too much time/energy. Even at your peak mental capacity, you might find that you are simply not cut out for it. I am far down the intellectual ladder from guys like George Soros.

Why not just build your site? And why are they selling theirs?
I clicked on a for-sale site (onlineflirting.net) and here's what the ad states:
The entire SEO process is:
1. 5-10 social bookmarks per day
2. 10 profile backlinks/day
3. 1-5 articles/day for backlinks
4. 1-5 videos submitted per website for backlinks
5. 1-5 press releases/day for backlinks
4. 5-10 blog comments for backlinks
Most of backlinks will target the keyword in the domain name.
Also the new owner we'll receive weekly rapports about the SEO done!
What is the potential?
Within 90 days, with all the SEO done, you will receive 500-700 unique visitors/day on all of the blogs wich will produce a minimum income of $3.3/day/blog = $1,000/month from Adsense.
You will also generate money from Clickbank affiliate products, paydotcom affiliate products, infolink, amazon store..and you will build a huge list to market.
All of the 10 Autoblogs have unlimited potential..traffic will come automatically to them..and you will receive adsense checks and affiliate commissions every month from now!
This is a 100% Guarantee Investment..you can earn money from tomorrow!
I don't know what to make of it. It seems like it will 1) churn traffic 2) GThen I collect 1k a month?
What's the catch?

Ideas!
It is always ideas. You can pay some monkey to do the technical stuff.
The guy with vision is always the key.
I hear ya! I'm developing my ideas.
My problem is screening and analyzing ideas. I have so many ideas that I bomb myself with them. I try to research my ideas, but I often end up with analysis-paralysis.
Thing is, eventually, I have to leave my security for an idea. I really need that idea to be a good idea.
