Here's the thing though: I paid too much for apartments (short-term rates). If I got a yearly lease and STAYED in one place instead of moving around, I bet I can easily get it down to $1250/month while living the same lifestyle. In fact my last months in Poland and last month in Croatia and Ukraine was silly cheap. The time I spent in Scandinavia (5 months) does distort the average somewhat.

$2k is the traveler rate when you look for apartments via google.

Roosh do you remember how much you spent per day in your Colombia, Brazil, Argentina trips? I always get a furnished apartment like you, but do more dates here in South America than nightlife. I try not to spend much, but I usually average 2000 dollars a month in Colombia and a bit more in Brazil.
Goes to show you that prices for a basic comfortable lifestyle are similar all over the world now.

I don't know what is wrong w/ the combination of the Forum and my browser, but I can't comment to posts.....only add new ones.

What I said is that I agree 100% with you Greek, that it is not just the cost of travel and living overseas. It is the cost of not working and paying for life back in your country that you not even benefiting from. I actually was paying for a mortgage on house that I wasn't living in. Horrible scenerio. I spent a fortune in my LT world travel escapades!

That looks pretty realistic to me. I seriously dont understand when a guy tells me that he spends 6 thousand per month when travelling, what are you doing with your money?

2000 dollars per month should be enough for most travellers as long as you are not renting luxury aparments and staying in expensive hotels.

30 thousand a year without a job would be ideal for most of us on here i would say.

$2000 is the sweet spot for me as well. I spent about $1500 a month in Bangkok and the only thing I would really like to upgrade is being able to have one really good meal (sushi, Arab, Italian, etc.) per day. An extra $10-$20 a day would cover that. And that's just a luxury. Really don't need to eat sushi every day, but if I could afford it, I would.

This is exactly what I'm finding right now.

I'm looking for flats in Poland and everything on airbnb that is in the city center and walking distance to the pubs/clubs is about $900-$1000.

My Polish friend started looking through Polish websites and ads that require a longer stay, and the price drops by at least half every month for similar flats.

Once you have your lodging taken care of, you can cook at home, eat healthy, and cut your food expenses in half.

Buy a few bottles of whiskey and have a drink or two before you go out and you're cutting down your nightlife budget too.

There are so many ways to trim down the expenses if you're not in the "traveler mindset." People use the traveler mindset to justify spending a lot of money - "Fuck it, I'm on vacation. Let's have a good time. You only live once."

Sure. I'll start a thread once I get settled into Poland and document every approach and experience I have..as well as provide some tips (that haven't been covered) for anyone traveling there. I'll post pictures too. I'll be in Germany and a few other places for a few weeks first.

I'm sure my experience will be mild compared to Ali's.
