Starting tonight and going into the next month there are several massive multiple-day outdoor music/party festivals in former Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia. In my opinion these are excellent places to meet local (and tourist) girls for much of the same reasons I outlined in my other thread concerning gaming women in large crowds. If you are a partying type these are also excellent grounds to let your hair down, go wild and crazy, partying to your heart contents. Particularly if you are younger, or feel that way.

Here are 5 most important summer 2013 places and dates in the ex-Yugoslavia area:

Exit Festival (Novi Sad, Serbia)
10.7.-15.7.

Sarajevo Film Festival (Bosnia)
23.7.-31.7.

Guca Brass Music Festival (Serbia)
5.8.-11.8.

Belgrade Beer Fest
14.8.-18.8.

Foam Fest (Belgrade)

With a little bit of planning one can conceivably visit all these back-to-back, and even interject some quick trip(s) down to beautiful Croatia or Montenegro coast in between.

Exit Festival (Novi Sad)
10.7.-15.7.

Exit is one of the largest annual outdoor summer music festivals in Europe. It is held in the city of Novi Sad (about an hour north of Belgrade). There will be literally dozens of acts performing on seven stages throughout four days and nights. In terms of music genres, there's a little bit of everything, from rock to pop, but the bread and butter is all sorts of electronica. Great thing about this festival is that the party never stops as the acts are playing all night long (yes, even at 3am 4am there are live shows going until sunrise). In addition to those from all over Serbia, the festival draws large number of visitors from around Europe and beyond. So it's a great place to game foreign chicks as well. In last few years there are lots of hipsters. Predictably, there are plenty of soft stimulating drugs around ensuring that the mood is always upbeat.

Sarajevo Film Festival
23.7.-31.7.

During the week of Sarajevo Film Festival the city is jam-packed with people from all over the region and Europe. The party atmosphere spills into the numerous streets which become official pedestrian only zones full of people with only one thing on their mind: having a good time. Those of you who remember my first and my second thread on Sarajevo know that I am fond of that city at all times. But if you are into large crowds like me, and are looking for the busiest week and the most amount of talent, it's definitely during the Film Fest week.

And if you are able to snag a Sarajevo cutie during the Film Fest week (if you've got game you should be able to, especially if you operate in team with a trusted travel buddy/wingman) the best thing you could do is take her down to the Croatian coast for a few days of fun on some of the most spectacular beaches in the Med.

   

Have her share your room (pay for it, don't ask her to chip in anything) and she will give you wonderful girlfriend experience you will hardly forget.

But don't fall in love, there are mad times to be had in Guca...

Guca Brass Music Festival (Guca, Serbia)
5.8.-11.8.

Every August a small town in southern Serbia called Guca welcomes several hundred thousands visitors to its fold, turning into the wackiest party place in Europe. Officially this is the brass music festival with big stage and official acts performing all sorts of hip shaking music, but real fun is in the streets of this small town where thousands upon thousands of party-loving visitors indulge in all sorts of alcohol-induced madness throughout all hours of day and night. For seven straight days.

Think of Guca as Bourbon Street during Mardi Grass meets Rio Carnival (not on the beach, but up in the favellas).

The great thing to remember here is that despite hundreds of thousands of drunken people the place is strangely under-regulated and under-policed. It seems as if the Serbian officials would hate to think of themselves as party poopers. In other words, pretty much anything goes. You haven't really experienced what real freedom looks like until you come to a place like this.

If you are a closet drunkyard, alcoholic, or garden variety party animal who likes to mindlessly blow on Vuvuzelas and doesn't mind throwing up his guts in the gutters of strange remote towns -- then Guca is for you!

This year's festivities will also feature the Emir Kurturica and Goran Bregovic bands performing on different days. These two are favorite of international hipsters. You don't believe it?

There's three days between the end of Guca Fest and the start of Belgrade Beer Fest. After party activities somewhere on the Montenegro coast may be in order.

Averages 100,000 visitors per day. One of my favorites because of beneficial logistics (too many beer stands too count, each one has cute chicks constantly coming and going.) and the type of crowd it draws. Urban, rock, tanned and back from summer vacation. Too perfect!

I'm seeing Aug. 16-24 rather then July 23-31 for the Sarajevo film festival website. I'm hoping that's wrong and your dates are correct because i'll be in Sarajevo later this month. Also sad I am missing Exit right now. I decided to go with Sziget festival in Budapest and skip Novi Sad overall during my trip to Serbia soon.

Forgot to say that the big crowd summer season is already well under way in Belgrade.

Green Day has recently played outdoors in front of 8,000.

In May, Depeche Mode has played outdoors in front of the crowd of 25,000.

But none of that can be compared with June 28th when the biggest local female star held solo concert in front of 150,000 fans.

Crowd of 150,000 souls in one place.
Predominantly female.
Most emotional as fuck.

Ahh too bad. Well since you seem to know Sarajevo pretty well from your other threads, so I'm curious to hear that if you have any tips of things to do or mistakes not to make, so I can speed things up a bit in terms of meeting and succeeding with women?

I'm also spending 4 days in Mostar specifically because I seem to do much better in smaller cities. Any tips would be fantastic.

Sarajevo is small enough I will talk to you about that some other time or in other Sarajevo threads. I need to finish this one as I seldom have time to do it frequently.

Looks like fun, but when you're that packed together it actually hurts you. You'll lose the chick you meet in the crowd. Carnival in Rio= same issues.

I hear you, but that's a superficial issue. Of course you don't mingle at the front, that's where couples and superfans are. When you are at straightforward concerts the trick is to operate at the crowd fringes. To the very right (of the stage), to the very left, at the top, where ground level meets the stands, where the concessions are, near the entrances/exits, where the bars are, where bathrooms are, where smoking areas are, etc. With any given massive crowd there are always large numbers of people doing something else. Or are interested in doing something else. Hang around those areas and soon enough you will meet chicks who sobered to the fact that massive concerts sucks, and are surely (if subconsciously) more interested in meeting someone new, than watching a 2-3 hr. live video of some stupid band waaaay up front.

Btw, the city of Novi Sad has a stretch of public (river) beach of which a portion will be cordoned off to make up space for Exit Village, basically a little tent city where many of the festival's visitors/backpacker-types will live during the festival days.

So now the Exit Villagers can not only chill in a nice area, but also engage in some beach game during the day. Nice touch there city people.
