I don't know. I'd say that if a chick who has a man is trying to hook up with you, their relationship was already fucked up. And let's put this in perspective, it's not like they're married with kids and you're breaking up a family or something.

There are certainly ways that you can ruin a relationship. You can seduce a chick who has a boyfriend and tell her that you want to be with her. Then when she leaves the boyfriend, you ditch her and move on. This doesn't sound like that sort of situation at all.

The reason I try and avoid situations like these has nothing to do with the other guy. It's all about the girl. There's no such thing as one crazy person in a long term relationship. Either this guy is unstable and she's staying with him despite the warning signs or he's a normal dude whose buttons she knows how to exquisitely press. In either case there's something up with her. Girl digs drama one way or the other.

The main risk I see dating a girl who's involved with another guy, especially one who might not be stable, is a false rape claim. Dude finds out about you and the girl, rather than come clean and risk his wrath girls claims you raped her. Your life is now fucked. Why take the risk? There are plenty of girls out there who either know how to be discrete - in which case you probably won't even know they have a boyfriend - or are truly single.

That's not to say I won't pursue a girl who says she has a boyfriend - half the time it's a shit test or she could be looking for a way out - but as soon as it becomes clear she's seriously involved with someone else and not leaving him I'm done.

Totally agree. Without trying to be critical of anyone on this forum, but some guys have had some crazy experiences, but a lot of the posters make it seem like only the girl was all fucked up. Why would she be attracted to you unless you matched her in some way. Rarely do I see a post where the OP admits to being sort of fucked in the head, loves drama and admits to it. That would be too responsible.

Unless she was the one (ugh oneitis), I would stay away from girls that are involved. I know a lot of guys like the challenge, but it is also for their egos. They need to feed their egos and the girls need to feed their egos. Being ego driven generally ends in disaster.

Yeah, I've certainly had my 'off brand' moments (h/t Hugo Schwyzer!). It's almost always the result of a bad brew of my quirks and her quirks. I do my best to work on myself but I also know to just avoid certain girls. I'm sure it's cost me a few bangs but I'd rather save myself the drama. That said some people can hide their insanity for a few hours or even a few months so I'm willing to cut people some slack if they run into some weirdness once in awhile provided they end it right away.

Don't respond to the guy. What possible benefit is there in it for you? Best case scenario he dumps her, and you've burned your bridges with her forever (cause he will tell her what you said when he breaks it off).
