Holy shit. I'm sticking w/ a pseudonym forever. Some of these ppl got their career wrecked for a tweet, groveled and are still banished from the city. Notice also, how the rise of social media tracks the rise of purges, that's no coincidence; twitter/facebook actually increase thought policing among most ppl.

If we stopped using every service and supporting every business because of a CEO's views nothing would get done and nobody would buy anything.

I don't understand why liberal views get to dominate hollywoood and even the internet. look at any top internet site like google and others and all support big government, spying, liberal views, etc.

I also get very annoyed that a small but loud and whiny majority get to dictate things. I imaine the percentage of people out there who have a problem with mozillas ceo views to the point they woudln't use the browser is very low but a small but loud minority get him thrown out.

By the way, what we're seeing with these purges is nothing new. The purges of Communist Russia were almost the same, except far more violent. The way it worked was simple:

- Communist digs through your past
- Communist finds info about you running a profitable business, or collaborating with a rich businessman
- Communist declares you "enemy of the proletariat"
- Communist ships you out to Siberia

Same thing happened in China, Vietnam, etc.

Thanks to youngblade for asking about it in the everything goes thread, which led me to look into it a bit.
Basically it's an ad and tracker free browser, which should run fast. Firefox eats up 300mb or ram just from starting up for me, because of all the adblock and antitracking addons I have installed.
I will try this new browser out, update this maybe after a week about how it handles for me.

^ I've been using it for weeks, SP. Browsing is damn fast. Most mainstream news sites would either struggle to load or crash completely on my old brower due to issues with the advertising scripts and now everything loads almost instantly. Still some issues to iron out here and there, but they update it regularly, and I enjoy knowing I'm doing my small part to destroy the clickbait model.

Been trying Duckduckgo as a search engine to avoid Google, Yahoo and MSN entirely, but some people have said they can't be trusted. Anyone got a better suggestion?

Same. I have been using Brave browser since Brendan Eich first announced his project. Brave is still a work-in-progress so I predict it will be a popular browser as it continues to make improvements. Anyone who is familiar with Eich's excellent technology accomplishments over the years (Netscape, Javascript & Mozilla) will know that his work speak for itself.

Other alternative browsers I am currently using are Opera, Pale Moon and Vivaldi.

Has anybody ever used Tor browser? I've been having trouble with Tor's configuration, which I struggled with.

As for alternative search engines, I use either DuckDuckGo or StartPage.

Props on the Brave browser suggestion. Most of my browsing I do at work, and I often have pages load incredibly slowly (those with tons of ads and backlinks)...

This Brave browser is incredible. My only complaint thus far is that it doesn't load this radio stream I listen to. And it just underlined (spell checked) the word "doesn't"...must not like conjunctions.

One more serious issue: when I go to post on RVF, none of the little links work (Insert Image, etc). Please help if you know why and how to fix.

Haven't used Brave yet, still satisfied with Firefox for the time being.

Also, from what I've read Brave doesn't stop ads entirely, just presents 'less intrusive' and 'more targeted' ads.
