I dunno.
Maybe they just got a convenient reason to kick him out of the company.

Not sure if the ban is still in place but the fact that anyone had the audacity to ban someone for expressing an opinion that is still pretty mainstream is astounding. What angers me most is how smug and sanctimonious these pro-gay people are. They want no debate on the topic. It's reflexively compared to interracial marriage as if that's even comparable. A man and a woman of different races can produce a child. Two men cannot. And if you don't agree, you hate. There's no in between with them. You simply hate gays and you're a bigot to the core if you don't fully accept homosexuality as equally ideal as heterosexuality.

What's hilarious is that they could essentially ban him for his religious beliefs which is discrimination which they claim to oppose.

However when the state of Arizona was considering giving property owners the right to discriminate against them, they went ballistic.

These people and all those who push cultural marxism are insane. I can't wait for things to swing strongly back to the right but I suspect we have to endure a considerable amount of more leftist nonsense.

Blacks used to be on the list. But since the Democrats know they've got the Black vote even if they were reinstate slavery, Blacks have fallen on the totem pole.

Guys on here are having a knee jerk reaction to this.

This is a private company. They can do whatever the hell they want with their internal processe d I 'd fight tooth and nail for them to retain that right rather than just doing away with it the second it's used against you.

While I dislike this decision the overall rules of private Enterprises and market economy are far far more important than this ultimately petty squabble.

It's deeply bigoted and offensive. He has every right to feel this way, but it's fair that Mozilla's audience rejected his leadership based on his bigotry.

Protections and rights the same as who? Marriage doesn't give anyone any protections. If anything, marriage is a liability to be assraped in divorce court. But I know fags love taking it up the ass, so perhaps that is why they want marriage so badly? lol

Yeah, these people are lunatics. It can be objectively provde that no one is harmed or discriminated by Proposition 8 or similar initiatives. Gay people already have civil unions with entirely same rights as normal marriages. Referendums like this deal with copyright (i.e. what the union is called), not human rights.

Conclusion: liberal asshats like this one don't even know what they're getting riled up about!

That's exactly what we're worried about. Do you truly believe that deciding to fire him was based on a pure business, profit-maximization calculation? I find that unlikely.

It's a very good quote, but I believe it's only "popularly attributed to Voltaire" as there's no documented source for him actually saying or writing it.

Yep. Competitors will use anything like this to set themselves apart from you. The public tends to respond emotionally, and companies play to that. Just like some guys here already said they would, or have stopped using Firefox in response - that's what competitors want to see, and count on happening.

How about the baker who didn't want to bake a gay wedding cake, and is being threatened with jail?

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/...dding-Cake
Quote:Jack Phillips is a baker who declined to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple because his Christian belief is that marriage exists only between a man and woman. Now a Colorado judge has ordered him to bake cakes for same-sex marriages, and if Phillips refuses, he could go to jail.
Phillips owns a small business, Masterpiece Cakeshop, in Lakewood, Colorado. A homosexual couple—Charlie Craig and David Mullins—visited Phillips’s store on July 19, 2012, asking him to bake them a cake to celebrate their wedding. Although the Colorado Constitution defines marriage as between only one man and one woman, these men claimed to have been already married in Massachusetts and wanted to celebrate the wedding in Colorado.
Phillips is an Evangelical Christian who holds to the belief that marriage is between a man and woman. When Phillips bakes a wedding cake, he interprets it as participating in the wedding celebration, and he explained that, therefore, he does not make cakes for gay marriages.
Craig and Mullins complained to the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. On Dec. 6, 2013, an administrative law judge—Robert Spencer—ruled that Masterpiece Cakeshop and Jack Phillips violated Colorado’s antidiscrimination law. Spencer ordered Phillips to bake cakes celebrating gay marriage for any other parties that ask for such a cake in the future.

Take care of those titties for me.

As a small protest of this action, I switched my browser from Firefox to Pale Moon, which is based on Firefox but with some modifications. It seems to run much faster. Another plus is that it allows you to keep all of your Firefox extensions. The process was extremely simple and easy, and only took a couple of minutes. If anyone else would like to register their displeasure with Mozilla by switching browsers, here's how to do it as painlessly as possible:

1) Download Pale Moon: http://www.palemoon.org/ (note there are both 32 and 64 bit versions)

2) Download the Pale Moon profile migration tool: http://www.palemoon.org/migrationtool.shtml

3) Install Pale Moon and the profile migration tool

4) Close Firefox and Pale Moon and run the migration tool

5) Open Pale Moon, start browsing normally while enjoying all your saved Firefox settings

RE: Mozilla CEO fired for supporting Prop 8
What would really hurt them is to have some contributors quit.

The dynamics of this are a bit messed up because Mozilla is a non-profit and tends to attract that kind of crowd, but I think this is going to give the LGBT crowd encouragement to take on a bigger fish next time. Expect future CEO appointments, particularly it tech, to start being subjected to a litmus test and challenged in social media if they fail it. Why not? Supreme Court appointments have been this way for 25 years now. Now it's moved to tech.

The noise about gender relations in tech is really interesting. I'm trying to get my head around why this, and why now? Clearly part of it is because money is involved, it's jobs with good money while sitting on your ass, as opposed to working in the oil field, which is also very good money but an infinitely more hostile work environment. Maybe because it's a soft target too. For all the crap I read about "brogrammers", there are damned few alpha males who actually write code for a living.

Also: NYT has an opinion piece, one of those things where they have 5 different people contribute opinions. 3 in favor of his sacking, 2 opposed. http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/201...ef=opinion

One of the contributors is Christian Rudder Founder & President of OKCupid.
