A few years ago, I was living in a five-bedroom house. Because of the delicate real estate market Houston was facing, I was interested in selling my house to buy another one. While planning this business move, I heard about an opportunity the Obama administration was offering that would assist homeowners with short-sale deals, where the lender settles for a sale price below the amount owed on the mortgage. I jumped on the opportunity and reached out to a real estate agent to assist with the process.

It didn’t take long to find an agent, and over time we became very close. In fact, we became too close and found ourselves at a point where pleasure became more important than business.

The result was hurt feelings, mixed emotions and resentment, and once feelings are involved, business takes a back seat. After the end of our personal relationship, the deadline expired for taking advantage of the short-sale program. I ended up in foreclosure. So not only did I lose out on money from a potential sale, but I ruined my credit as well. I’ve suffered financially from not being able to do business in my own name and probably lost around $200,000 directly and indirectly through my mistake.

Who would have known that sex would lead to losing money? Obviously, I didn’t. But this is one of the many mistakes that led me to talking more about money as part of my work. It’s 2015, and my credit still isn’t the same. Neither is my net worth, but the lesson I learned is certainly priceless.

I'm surprised mostly because rappers are in a game that requires them to be hustlers to get paid. Contrary to popular belief, no rapper makes an album or two, has a few hot songs, and then can legitimately be on MTV Cribs -- for reference look at Bobby Shmurda, who put out a couple of smash hits and is now stuck in jail because he has no money nor will anyone, including his record label, put up money to bail him out.

The industry literally robs them blind at every turn, most rappers are stuck in what are known as 360 deals, which basically make them slaves. Their "brand" is used by their label to make money off them, in any way possible. Keep that in mind, when you see rap artists with all kinds of endorsement deals, off-shoot businesses like wine labels, clothing lines, perfume/cologne brands etc. these are industry slaves locked into 360 deals, the only people making money are the people who own their contracts.

So back to Slim Thug, if there was a real estate deal that needed to be done, you hire the agent, get the work done, and then maybe after the deal closes and you get your check, you smash to celebrate. Personally, I'd avoid doing work like that with a woman who I was attracted to, but you gotta understand something, men like Slim Thug are marks. A lot of attractive women get into fields like real estate because it's easy and there is some potential, although not as much as there was a decade ago, to make really good money. These attractive women tend to have some type of modeling, entertainment, or sports background and they use those connections to form relationships with people in those circles who have the money to buy expensive homes. That is to say, they do business with celebrities, not regular dudes with regular job and a regular families.

The fact that he set out to do business and get involved with a woman who just took dick from him, while allowing him to miss a deadline that cost him over $200,000, should let you know something about a woman's nature.

It also should serve as a reminder to you about shitting where you eat.

What I find funny about all this is how rappers always state "Money over Bitches". The reality is it always is "Bitches over Money" with them. They get divorce raped and simp on video hoes, booty models and strippers. There are just too many examples to cite just one. Next thing you know these guys are broke then these girls that long game rappers and athletes get all the money they have left.

I think it was more of an excuse than anything else.

He might have fucked that up either way. The deadline for the deal expired after the relationship was over - as many rappers before him and as you correctly stated - they are generally slaves to the record label and to their own inability to manage the money they actually make.
