I want to help fellow red pillers and thought maybe we need a thread where we could post jobs, jobs ideas, or jobs we know are in demand in a specific area. If this is a dupe thread, delete it, and I'll use the other thread.

Increasing demand with lower gasoline prices, which gives those of you who may like the thought of travelling around the country for a year an idea. My suggestion: go into the job and negotiate as high of pay as you can, don't just take $57,000 - which isn't a bad salary if you're young and thinking about skipping college, or trying careers for a while. I think some of you might be able to negotiate above $60,000. If you see that they continue to struggle with obtaining labor, negotiate even more - this might be an industry that experiences wage growth, if they struggle to find people.

Best part of the job - no HR to deal with.

While the blogger thinks they will eventually automate this, and he might be right, I think we have a while before they do, and it might give you a chance to see different parts of the country you might want to remain in.

Yea, that's not going to happen.

Long-haul trucking is a very tough lifestyle -hats off to the men who do it. Would you want to drive for god knows how many hours a day and live out of truck stops? Granted there are some nice truck stops, but no thanks.

Along similar lines, I'd suggest driving a cement truck. About the same money but you're home every night. And since you'll be working hand in hand with the construction industry >> overtime up the ass.

Railroad. Any area in this country. You wanna talk about red pill, here it is. ALL men, lots of vets, no bullshit, no political correctness. The downside: it's a tough life, and I don't say that lightly. Six figure job within a couple years time -you really have to want it though, as you'll be working pretty much every weekend.

Top jobs within the industry, IMO:

* Signalman -a man with tight game would crush it here. If you end up in a gang -railroad slang for a construction crew, you'll likely work a 7 on 7 off rotation and travel to different locations each time. The comradery found in a railroad construction gang is the closest I've found since leaving the Marine Corps. If you're prior military OR have a CDL and a electrical background, you're a shoe-in.

* Conductor - Lots of travel here too, but you never know your schedule. Basically prep the train and do whatever the engineer tells you to do.

* Track laborer - Not as technical as Signalman, but similar lifestyles.

Outside of the railroad, any skilled trade. I'd say Elevator Constructor is number 1, but I'm biased. Close second is Ironworker followed by pipefitter. This is just my opinion.

The trades aren't for pussies and you have to have thick skin, but it's a very rewarding career. I'll answer any questions about any career I listed.

Other jobs not going away soon:
- Electrician
- Construction
- Programing (h/t jj90)
- Doctors
- Nursing
- Kindergarten teacher (Yes, I know. It is not for men).
- R&D
- Management

Basically if your job requires creativity or adaptability or emotional intelligence you should be fine in the mid-to-long run.
And of course trades - in which machines will have an extremely hard time replacing people.
