I keep reading these rumours that Em is dropping a new album this year.
People can say washed up all they want, but then a 40 plus guy comes and murders tracks like nothing.
Also, Views doesn't sound horrible to my taste, but then he could have dropped the same thing between Take Care and Nothing was the Same, and it wouldn't have been out of place. No progression, really.

Views is bad, but it isn't Thank Me Later bad. It's just too long and not progressive enough. We've heard this sound a million times before and the novelty has wore off.

My suspicion was that he had to prove himself after the Q. Miller incident to actually make the music himself. He really needs to cut that shit out and get back to stealing work cause Drake will rip some shit and drop some fire. If he takes your shit he'll be a better you than you.

Views is still catchy as fuck. Not surprised he doesn't write all his own lyrics to be honest, when you get into the mainstream this hard he's got a release schedule to stick to.

I rate it on the same level as Nothing Was The Same. But it's far more R&B and less hype, though I guess that's to balance out If You're Reading This It's Too Late which was in the opposite direction.

he doesn't contribute anything new to the game. kanye and kendrick are constantly finding ways to pioneer the way hip hop music is defined. the newness factor seemed to level off with views.

The problem with mainstream is that it's all songs for women. It's all fakery.

The lyrics of Drake these days are of betrayal, when he lives in a mansion with like 20 of his boys.

He whines over women not trusting him then he brags about getting bitches every night.

It's catchy stuff but all glorified hype.

Yeah he's found his formula and is sticking with it. You need someone to fill that niche though whilst others do more innovative stuff.

Desigiiner, for example, sound just like Future, same flow, cadence, slang, subject material, except this voice is about an octave deeper. Seeing how hip-hop came from NY it baffles me why NY rappers are emulating Southern rappers, it's like Xeroxing a Xerox, you get a more inferior duplicate with every time.

Shit, I'm from NYC and our new guys, even friends of mine who are trying to get put on, sound like Southern cats, not that I dislike Southern rap. NY rap is a odd-place: We haven't a signature sound since Dipset's heyday in 05-07. Our guys are just jocking the latest trends to get views and sell singles.
