I grew up in the Toronto in the 80s and 90s and here some of my favorites:

Wally - idiot/douchebag
lates - goodbye
reach - go, as opposed to arrive
beast - a bad situation or situational outcome, usually phrased "that's BEAST"

I'd say the two biggest cultural patois influences were Italian and Jamaican.

Hows ya gettin' on? = How are you today?
Yes, b'y = An expression of awe or disbelief. Also commonly used sarcastically
He's got some missus on the go = to be in a relationship
whaddya after doin' now? = what have you done?
You're stunned as me arse, b'y = inferring incredible stupidity or foolishness

From a popular local song: I's de by dat builds de boat / And I's de by dat sails 'er.

Dropping 'h' at the beginning of words and adding 'h' onto words that begin with vowels. Hamilton becomes 'Amilton, or H'Amsterdam in the opposite way.

My is often replaced with me. "To be" is often "bes". Verb conjugation ends up with sentences like: "I likes dat". Actually heard this: "Are wes guys goin' play yous guys taday?"

Alie (Said Ally) = To agree / don't you agree (This drink tastes nice alie)
Banging = Good (This drink is banging)
Don't watch that = Don't worry about it
Seen / skeen = I understand / I get you
Stoosh = When a girl is not putting out she's acting "Stoosh"

Makes me laugh when I think people would not understand a word me and my friends when were saying when we was younger and conversing with each other.

London, UK:

Raggo (or rags) = Straightforward, no fux given. Example: You just went in there, raggo!

Chirps = Talk to a girl with the intent of immediate or future sexual interactions.
Example: Jason just chirsped Tanya.

Yatts/Beans/Beenies = Lizards

Press/bang = To have sex with. Example: Moma pressed Shirley on Saturday.

Splurt = To go. Example: I'm looking to splurt at 3pm, bruv.

Mans = People (familiar or unfamiliar). Although it's used for male, it's a unisex term and can be used to refer to females too. Example: What you mans saying?
Manaman = Singular version of mans (usually used for the unfamiliar). Example: What's manaman going on wiv though? Trans: What is that guy doing or up to?

Yard/Drum/Gaff = One's house. Example: I'm taking Shirley back to my gaff/yard/drum.

Spark = To punch someone. Example: I will spark manaman for chatting that shyt, yanna! Or: Watch how I spark dem mans though!

Gazing = When one is not taking advantage of the opportunities around them.
Example: Google is hiring for entry level techs in the area and dem mans are just there gazing!

Grafting = To work hard/hustle. Example: Jason has been on the graft from time that's how he got the new flat.

Innit = A conjugation of the words 'isn't' and 'it' to create the merged new word, innit. Used in an affirmative sense for a statement. Example: She was naked and skin out in my yard so I pressed that, innit!

Skin out = Naked. Example: The yatt was loose, all skin out in mans drum once the music was on, though!

Loose = Promiscuous, easy to fcuk.

Dizzy = Stupid. Example: Are you mans dizzy or what?

Blad/Bredrin/Spar = All used to denote familiarity with a person. Example: That's my spar, innit, us mans reached bare raves together.

Raves = Clubs but with no association with a techno rave club. Example: We go raving on Friday and Saturday twice a month.

Two, twos = Next thing you know. Used in a continuation to add emphasis to the point of a story or an account being relayed: Example: I was just sitting down wid dem two beans from Grove and two twos, the one wid the big batty just skin out right there, yanna!

Zoot = Spliff, rollup. Usually infers to something that's got that 'Bob Marley' in it.

A lot of this urban slang spawns from Jamaican culture, idioms and sayings and has been blended into the London narrative. Terms differ according to the regions of London was is from.

bama - originally meant someone who can't dress, eventually became general slang for an out-of-touch loser
"Yo, did you see that bama was wearing?"

joan - all-purpose noun
"Yo man, check out this joan over here"
(originally from Philly but made its way down here in the early 90s)

joaning - maliciously teasing or insulting someone (no relationship to the above noun)
"I just kept joaning on that bama until he left."

gritting - looking someone up and down, then sucking your teeth at them
"Yo man, that dude was gritting you. You gonna take that?"

young - all purpose pronoun used to address someone to whom you are speaking
"Hey young, check out this joan."

steal - to punch someone really hard (past tense: stold)
"Steal him in the face, dude!"
"Aww shit, you got stold!"

Central Appalachia:

spell: a brief moment (rarely used and mainly by the dying generation, but any young Appalachian will understand)

over/down yonder: a few miles away (see:spell)

buggy: shopping cart (still extremely common or even the favored term. I've been away for too long remember.)

fixing: cooking/making, often regarding food (see: buggy)

acting up: ache or pain; eg, my knee is acting up. (I still use this.)

NYC/Brooklyn:

"Lit" - a good time
"Son" - I'm not sure how to define this one.. I guess it's similar to "bro"

"Thot" - slut, whore, etc - I think this originated in Chicago but New Yorkers use it so much it might as well have originated here.

"Pop off" - to start a problem
"Duff" - punch
"Swipes" - credit card
"Weak" - hilarious
"Wah gwan" - this is a Jamaican phrase, but NYC, especially Brooklyn, has a large Caribbean community, so practically everyone says it.

Snatchin it
