Yeah that's a good point. Unless the commission of the "sexual assault" involved weapons or other potentially illegal items, I fail to see how the contents of the accused man's house has any connection to it. But hey, if you don't use those Police State Muscles they may atrophy.

So... is he a felon? I'm still not sure what the search warrant was for, and why it was specified to look for these items. Does the initial charge of sexual assault by prosecutors involve search warrants usually? If charged with sexual assault, does that make you a "prohibited person" before the trial for sexual assault? Sound like a tie-in to domestic violence or something.

What determines a single count for drugs? Weight? Each stash found?

Drug charges can be for different variety of drugs, paraphanelia, if he had something like a scale for dealing. If he had three xanax, a gram of meth, gram of mj, and one oxycodone he would be charged with four felonies.

I heard him and his bud (Rick's son?) used to be skinny meth heads but they kicked their habit for a cheeseburger habit. They'd just eat until they didn't think about meth anymore.

He plays a screw up in the show. All of these reality shows have a guy like this. Orange County Choppers was the same. I've always thought that I would refuse to play such a demeaning role in a show like that, regardless of the money.

After seeing this, I guess he's just a screw up in real life too.

If the alleged crime took place at his house then they could serve a warrant to search the place for possible evidence. But what they're really doing is building case against the guy. If he's been through the system, he knows well enough to not provide them with any help in convicting him. Without a confession, the case doesn't go very far. He's a known druggie so they search his place and find drugs as well as the gun. He then goes from facing a light charge, to several felonies that could theoretically land him in prison for years. Now they've got leverage on him. Now he takes the plea deal and the state skips the trial.

Yup. You can write the warrant to search for the smallest piece of sexual assault evidence you can think of (used condom or whatever) and it lets you search pretty damn deep.

Same thing happened to that UFC fighter in a highly questionable "rape" involving a couple of girls he took home and that had decided to spend the night in his bed. They found out he was growing pot and had guns, he had to take the deal register as a sex offender for life.

My dealings with the LVPD makes it pretty much or was a no go zone now I like Swpl activities so it wouldn't matter.

I'm sure Chum will come out clean he got played a little and high profile.

It may be that once a certain amount of drugs are present any gun whatsoever in your possession,is now illegal. Regardless of permits or anything.

Let's remember, reality TV isn't actually reality.

I'm not saying he's a genius, but they are playing a caricature of themselves in a scripted television show.

Yeah if you have ever watched this show or any of history channels "reality" shows its obvious the only non scripted/non staged parts are the negotiations which even those might be. I still enjoy the show though, pretty interesting some of the stuff they come across.

I used to watch that show with a dude I lifted with.

It all makes sense now.

Chumlee stays up for some days on meth, hits the bong a couple times before work. Can only manage one word answers.
