Great post but one question that I have.

Does chivalry actually work these days especially in the Anglosphere? Opening doors and giving jackets can seem needy and may not be appreciated. I have seen guys walking empty handed while the girl is carrying a shit load of things and she still snuggles up to him at the end. I am tempted to think you can still hold the frame without these gestures.

Depends on the girl.

I wouldn't say for certain that you can't be chivalrous in the Anglosphere. Feminism is rampant, but most of the girls that guys from this forum date will be quite feminine, and open to chivalry as well as more likely to play her part.

It also depends on what you're like. I personally don't do the hand-holding shit, but I do hold the door open for girls - it's just something I grew up with. I think there's a difference between being a gentlemen and a bitch. You see guys who are clearly cuckold walking around the streets serving their girl as if she's some goddess.

The key is balance. What is reasonable vs supplicating. I'll hold a door, but I sure as hell won't hold her purse.

Chivalry does not make a girl want to sleep with you.
It does not make a girl grateful or appreciative.

If anything she grows to accept it, expect it, and often resent you for it. She can see it as you trying to control her.

Perhaps this is going off topic but, how do you view driving a car WIA?

Specifically, the guy that has his girl drive him around.

Not that it can't be nice every once in a while (especially if you're getting something done or very tired), but it always seemed like a bitch move to me to have the girl drive the guy around.

If we're in the car, I'm almost always in the driver's seat. My car, her car, someone else's car.

I've been on the East Coast for most of the past 10 years, so that's less and less of an issue.

What I've found that if you set the tone early in the relationship
- you drive most of the time
- she sits in the passenger seat and is fine with it
- I would drive her car
- She might drive her car occasionally if it was more convenient
- I've only had a chick drive my car twice, and both were committed relationships heading towards marriage (one got away, the other I dodged the bullet)

That being said, the guys that have chicks drive them around, give them money, take them shopping -has flipped the game. The woman's ultimate dream is to be pampered, taken care of, only get to do the fun parts of the relationship, none of the drudgery. No responsibility, or accountability, just power.

I really don't understand the car thing with guys. Now I think that is ridiculous.

I love being driven around. In fact sometimes with girls I will sit in the back seat opposite side and treat her like my hired driver for fun. I can drink or smoke and not worry and make her my DD.

When I am wealthy enough I will hire a hot woman driver and sit in the back seat of the Rolls. Just like Lou Ashby in Californication.
