Toronto can be a great place to raise a family...have a career and build a traditional life (in the sense of getting a career and raising a family) and a great place to live...that is until you go overseas and see how it is elsewhere.

You see, the problem starts as soon as you wander oustide of North America, say in places like Brasil, Colombia, Eastern Europe or South East Asia. When you come accross places where people are cool, where normal human interactions can still be had with total strangers of both sexes mind you, where the weather is nice year long, where the women are women, that is feminine and not trying hard to be men on top of being beautiful and friendly and to boot everything off, when everything is 1/3 to 1/4 of what you pay in TO, it hits you like a brick of wall in your face that damn, why am I wasting my time in Toronto? Of course, if you haven't had a chance yet to go to these places, you would not know nor understand. Words cannot describe how it until you personally have had a taste of it, a taste of the good life.
I urge you to take the plunge and go see and experience this for yourself. But let me warn you, once you do, you'll never be the same person as you'll question the very reason of why you're doing what you may doing now....

There are A LOT of cities in North America alone that are far worse than Tdot. Also, the city of Toronto and everything it offers makes it one of the best IN THE WORLD to live in. That's a proven fact already. And it is considered a top 5 city in North America.

I do not understand all the hate it gets. I don't want to offend anyone, but its either you aren't looking sharp, you aren't on top of your game, you don't know the city and therefore not going to the good spots, or you're just simply doing something wrong. The good clubs, bars and venues here in Toronto always have a good ratio and always have gorgeous women, just like any other city in the world. A girl is a girl, whether it's in Toronto or in Montreal or in Miami or in Chicago, they are still all the same.
I understand where you're coming from, and I some what agree. But honestly, most of you (not trying to directly point at you, but these forums in general) talk about Toronto like it has no lady-like women, no good looking women, like they're all bitches, etc.

I have met and personally know MANY beautiful, lady-like and amazing women who live in Toronto. The thing about Toronto is 95% of the people you meet will be from elsewhere around the world, meaning they most likely (if they were raised correctly) have those values you mentioned in your post. It's not like the girls here are born and bred Canadian Toronto girls, they are 95% international, they have culture and they carry the values and morals that their background has taught them.

I was born in Toronto but raised in France and Lebanon, and then back to Toronto, so I know the difference between 3 separate areas of the world pretty well. Toronto really is a good city both to live in and in terms of women. Now it isn't on the same level as Miami, NYC, Stockholm, etc, but it definitely is in the middle of the pack instead of on the bottom of the list! Many many quality girls in Toronto! Obviously like every other city Toronto has its nasty girls you don't want to waste your time on, and maybe it has more of them than the average city, but I also think it has more quality girls than the average city because of all the different cultures you find walking around downtown.

(11-14-2011 07:45 PM)kosko Wrote:  You have to work twice...three...four times as hard here in T.O. the fact that so many dudes are echoing the same things I have been observing and experiencing has just re-affirmed my thoughts that the city is flawed. Comparisons to NYC are another thing that shoots TO in the foot. Does NYC get compared to anything? Does D.C. get compared to NYC? Does Chicago? No. Toronto continually must get pegged to its mammoth big brother in which it can't compete. I've always argued Toronto has no soul, no vibe, because its citizens fail to fill its soul with any type of substance. Toronto folk run off to London, NYC, and wherever else to copy culture then come back here and front on it like it’s their own lol.

D.C. was created for the specific purpose of being a cesspool of bureaucracy, government and related institutions. Toronto was created to be nothing more then a sleepy industrial post on the lake. Only after the St. Lawrence Seaway and Montreal's radical implosion did it become a "metropolis". The City was never meant to be on the world stage, it was the kid who had to step in for Payton Manning when he got hurt. And has been playing catch-up ever since. You can see this in the way the City looks and the demeanour of its established residents. Two words that can describe TO are ... (1) Cheap and (2) Cold.

Toronto has a lot of good qualities to it. I still enjoy being able to go to a ton of great shows. I love music and I'm a big underground head so a lot of acts that would miss my old home town always roll through here. Summer time is nice here you get a lot of tourists in and you can ignore the frumpy screw faced locals lol.

The niche thing is key. I am really not one to try and find a pack or unit to roll with. I am my own unit so I haven't attempted to fake something about myself to gain social status from some obscure group. You have your list of randoms you chill with whom don't really matter that much. I feel that's what the majority of relationships in the City are of. People have their tight unit then a larger group of randoms they fit in into the puzzle as they go along.

In comparing the two, - I have not ventured to D.C. but I study City policy and have a good understand of how the majority of Cities in North America "feel", and "Act" from reading books and reading personal accounts on everyday life. I would say D.C. women are probably less attractive, and the looser robotic "go-getter" attitude can get annoying, but being so close to I-95 and close to a host of options not to far away I would see that as the biggest plus. Also the DMV is way more diverse than the GTA (character wise not ethnic wise of course), yea Brampton and Markham are like night and day people wise but its still the same tacky TO vibe present.

I do honestly think though that these two cities are by far the worst as far as large metros go. We can cry for the people in Kenosha but they aren't on the same level as these two Cities. As far as "first-tier" Cities go. D.C. and T.O. are easily the worst. Vancouver sucks too but the people there are at least more warmish, they just don't have the quality we do and their nightlife is weak.

I do view TO as a challenge if I am going through this process of becoming a better men and fluent in game then I do accept the challenge of trying to conquer this soulless metropolis. razz
This is a very well written and articulated post. Good job.

In any case I am glad iam off the market and settling down. I leave the Conquest of the 5th level of Hell to you younger kids in your early 20's(Iam 32 years old) and what not. I just enjoy this topic because its something i went through and glad to see others are going through it as well. Well not GLAD per se but you know what i mean to say haha.

Kosko is on point with his views.

1bliss brings up an important issue about everyone being from everywhere else, not sure if other big Canadian cities have similar issues (Vancouver is similarly diverse), though ive heard Calgary chicks are just into money these days.

My biggest issue with Toronto, which may lead me to have a harsher opinion, is like everything else in the city, it has so much potential to be great...

There are still great girls here, certainly attractive ones, and putting in solid game will get you places. But when you encounter one of those bad nights where nothing is going great, its not just a Juan Manuel Marquez narrow loss on the judges scorecard, its a complete Michael Spinks KO...woo loo loo...when you encounter the negative Nancy's, you will come across some of the the most extreme pretentious stuck-up girls on the planet, the 5s who act like supermodel 10s.

Given the size of the Greater Toronto Area, a lot of people will come to the city to party, and you can meet some great girls, but as luck would have it, they live somewhere that is very inconvienent to where you live. The highway system isn't the best, and if you don't have a car...pac fat...good luck.

I agree.

Even though I've posted before:

-Girls have inflated values here and tdot feels tougher than any other place I've been

- 6 months of the year is shite weather

I'd never complain about living here.

Why?

Negligible crime, an economy largely (so far) untouched by the recession, incredibly multicultural, vibrant downtown etc

Sooner live here than many many other places

Even with the bitch shields and needless attitude, I've had success with all kinds of women that I can't gripe about

If U R getting zero punani here, you have issues unrelated to your place of residence

Can't compare with dc don't know it well

The multi-cultural thing is BS. I get tired of TO folks using it. Its another pawn we use to shout and scream "look at me....look ...look over here"

Do we have one of the most diverse Cities on earth? Yea we do. I can sit on a street car and hear and smell all types of things I would never in any other City.

But like I said in my older poster .. Cheap. Cold. You can apply it to anything in Toronto and get a description of the City.

Torontos Multiculturalism is:

Cheap

We get it half assed here. Most immigrants run off to the burbs to buy cheaper homes and try as hard as they can to emulate a non-existent Canadian culture.

They get the short end of the stick and are forced to serve us high brow Canadians $2 Cofees at Tim Hortons and sweep are crappy cubicle work-spaces when we are asleep.

Multi-multiculturalism in Toronto is a bunch of B-grade restaurant that charge out the ass for their local countries street food. You get mad festivals in the Summer which is cool of course but its so "token", I read a story once critiquing this, Toronto residents identified the diversity in the City only by food and other tacky tokens of appreciation.

Cold

Toronto immigrants largely isolate them selves. Yes people of all colors and blends chill with each other but not as much as you would hope. Social circles no matter what the color or ethnicity still have gates drawn up and are hesitant are skeptical of letting new people in.

I will agree with you though. Something do make Toronto a good place to live. It is safe. The weather is OK (I'm from Alberta and Saskatchewan, its great weather most of the time for me), If you live in the Old City its easy to get around without a car.

Still though.

Cheap. Cold.

Lol the thing everyone agrees on it is a great city to live, I prefer the burbs myself. There are some nice looking girls here, quite alot if the truth be told but too many rate themselves higher than they actually are. I somewhat blame the men because the majority are soft(beta) and bend over backwards for them, where they should be putting these girls in there place.
I will add that I am slightly older than most, so during the late 80's and early 90's this place was close to paradise. Meeting girls was easy as going to the mall, girls had a great attitude but I would guess feminism is to blame.

Been to DC once many years ago, judging by the pics posted on this site of the nightlife. I would say DC wins as the worst city in North America.

I moved to TO as a kid and while growing up I have come to terms with the "coldness" or "bitchiness" of girls here. Infact everytime I go out and appoarch I am expecting a the girls to be a bitch. I have come developed an "immune system" against the negativities in Toronto, I have learned to love the city because I know my game will get a lot tighter.

I just recently got old enough to head to clubs and I have to say nightgame>daygame in Toronto. Even though I am working on traveling and going to other cities outside Toronto, I don't know what to expect because I have been hearing a lot of great things but for now I will just use my ignorance as a fuel to game girls even harder here.

RE: Battle of the Titans: Toronto VS DC
I do agree that the men are probably the biggest problem here. The Beta-Men of Toronto have largely let Feminazis and LGBTs take over. The City is run by them and thus help create the PC capital of the world.

I was at Andys Poolhall a few weeks back for a hip-hop jam and I wonder "why the hell does such a big bar have unisex washroom?s" In smaller dive bars and bars like Cheval I never really minded, its easy to slime up lizards in there (lol) - but then it hit me that it wasn't just a stunt for bars to save money and not make to facilities for Men and Women. I realized it was simply a response to the PC nature of this City in which 'Julie with the penis' does not feel offended when he/she is tasked with the hard decisions of if he/she is going to stand or sit to take a piss.

Maybe somebody can prove me wrong on this but it really only hit me at Andy's its such a large space and the unisex washroom feels like a HS locker room with stalls from one end to the other, it was an awkward setup and look new(ish) too.

Does D.C. have the same proliferation of Betas? Or is it simply their are just to many men in D.C. period? San Diego gets that knock too that the percentages don't click right.

Exactly, when you haven't been exposed to other places Toronto seems fine.

I used to think Toronto was alright until I visited Stockholm.

In any case, I'm just gonna push hard here in TO until I can leave.

BTW when I say Toronto, I am talking about the GTA. Why? Because when you party in downtown Toronto, most of the people are from one of the suburbs, so essentially I consider Toronto as the whole GTA. Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Brampton, Vaughn, Markham, Milton, etc... plentyyy of quality girls to go around my friends. A lot of people from Hamilton even come every weekend to downtown to jam. 6M+ people. Trust me, more than enough quality girls. Just find the proper spots.

Yea but if you don't have a car (comme moi), you are quite fcuked in terms of getting to her.

The main reason I gripe about Toronto is it has the potential to be much greater than it is. If I lived in Oshawa or Whitby, I wouldn't say shyt.

It's a bit like recruiting a guy on your team to play ball who is supposed to be an allstar player. He is 7'0, 280 pounds but can't dunk and gets pushed out of the paint all the time.
No one would raise a peep if you recruited a player that was 5'5, 102 pounds with asthma. He blows the layup that's cool.

If Toronto is supposed to be a mega city, then it should act like it. I can't stand pretenders. I don't accept the fact that it is in Canada or whatever. Either you play with the other big boys or shut the fcuk up.

I believe the reason it falls behind is because of the perpetuated delusion that goes on.
We are the most multicultural city in the world, we have the longest street in the world.....bullshyt. A bland castrated collage of whatever.

Delusion is an act that is mainly practiced by lizards of beta chodes. As rudeboy says, the men are to blame.
Men always decide a culture. If the men are soft, the whole culture will be soft.
The men here are soft and because of that, the lizards can run amok.

Let me give you a quick example of how Toronto contrasts.. I went out with some guys this past weekend to Buffalo to go clubbing.
The street had cops every 10 metres..chilling. One guy was beating on his lizard, a cop watched him idly.
In the club we were in, a fight broke out. The bouncers were talking calmly to the perps, you wouldn't even know.
In Toronto, any little thing is blown waaay out of proportion and it's almost like the RCMP is called in over a hangnail.

When I would dance with a lizard, instead of her looking over her shoulder in annoyance to see who it was, she would dance for at least a song before looking back and excusing herself..which means she wasn't DTF.
This behaviour I can accept. This is civil and this behaviour one can learn from.

My point is, this is shytt azz Buffalo and I already saw behavioural patterns that were better than Toronto.

As the Vacancier said, Toronto is good for raising a family. It's safe, stable and the people are nice and laidback.

But for a single man trying to make something for himself, I ASSURE you that there are much better BIG cities out there.

For those who are stuck here for now or forever, make the most of it. Bump up your numbers and you will bang lizards. If possible, travel to the burbs for more reasonable lizards.

If I never knew any different, Toronto would be fabulous too. Brainwashing is a beautiful thang.

Why are the guys in Toronto so pussy whipped and captain save a ho's? Where did that shit originate from? I've been to spots like that but they're small cities with less than a million people. I don't understand how a big ass city with so many sluts walking around can have almost nothing but white knights.

It's funny how Toronto or DC threads are similar.

Bunch of guys hate on the city. Then one guy says the city is actually awesome and how he has no problems. Then it starts going off topic or degrades into name calling.

RE: Battle of the Titans: Toronto VS DC
From the look of some of the posts in here, it seems that no one gets laid in Toronto and it's impossible. Which is not true. While it is true there are indeed some hot chicks around and it is possible to get laid. However, for the effort you put in, the return is very low. Now, elsewhere outsideo f NA, for the same effort, you have higher quality girls. This is the point of this thread. It's not that it's impossible to get laid, it's that the effort required to get it going with a mediocre girl is not worth it, specially once you've had a taste of the good life with a gorgeous, slim, sexy and feminine woman and there is no turning back to that. That's what this is all about.

Now, again there are that will defend Toronto tooth and nail, like everywhere. Toronto is good for career for those who have come from some bum fuck place and have little to no exposure to overseas travel/living. Because once you do, you realize that there are much better places elsewhere, with equally good opportunities or better ones, great weather year long, an abondance of hot, sexy, slim, feminine and friendly women and at all that at a fraction of the cost of living in Toronto. Now, if someone is happy in Toronto, then more power to you. Some of us who seen the light are calling the BS on TO and that's what some have a hard time accepting. To these, we ask them to be open minded and do themselves a favor by exploring the world, seeing other places and then they'll know what we're talking about here.

RE: Battle of the Titans: Toronto VS DC
Again, I've been to many many places around the world and was raised elsewhere, so I have "seen the light" and I have experienced life in different cities. And I stand by my claim that Toronto is great. How come I have no problem swooping girls here? How come most of the guys I know get laid almost every time they go out? Obviously there are still some dudes I know who find it extremely hard, which is normal... if a city is easy for every guy to get laid, then personally I wouldn't want to live there.

But to each his own. I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone, just here defending a great city. It's not the #1 city, but its definitely not as shitty as you guys make it seem. Not even close.

I don't find the city is swamped with betas as many post here.

RE: Battle of the Titans: Toronto VS DC
The GTA and Toronto are two different things. Lets be frank here. Toronto ends at Eglinton (Sheppard if you dig Asian girls), Royal York, Main Street, Lake Ontario.

People in the GTA go bank and forth a lot for work and leisure but trying to compare lifestyles and patterns between the suburbs and the City is a joke. An Old City lifestyle is very different from somebody whom lives in Milton. The only similarities we share is that we get drunk downtown on the weekends.

Living outside of the old city you are shielded from a lot of the PC bullshit you have to encounter so much here. I don't imagine you can stroll into a bar in Richmond Hill that is nicely packed and find that every women in the establishment is a full on dyke.

But I agree 100% that in ANY CITY the men set the tone and culture.

Surely this is a joke! The men are soft that is why the girls feel they are special. Compare it to many places I have been where the men ignore the women and don't put them on a pedastal, Toronto is a joke.

I am with VP, the city is great for raising a family.

RE: Battle of the Titans: Toronto VS DC
As someone who is a DC native who went to Queen's in Kingston for 5 years and spent a lot of time in Toronto, DC is better when it comes to guys who are aware of game, accept game, but are not experts like Roosh/Roissy/etc... Yes, it is the battle of the shitholes, but DC wins the battle of the shitholes when it comes strictly to women. Toronto is hands down the better city otherwise. Economcially, culturally, socially, crime, whatever metric you want to use, except when it comes to chicks. I can buy that you can score truly finer chicks in Toronto if you are a true black belt PUA due to the lower obesity rate (not the same as a lack of obesity), but otherwise I'm skeptical.

How do I know this? I could get into an impossibly long discussion of my experiences. But I'll just say this. When I look women directly in the eye in DC, I hold their gaze longer than I do in Toronto/Kingston/Ontario in general - and I don't get a downward look when they look away - it's always sideways. Chicks are just pickier there because they can be. The difference between how relatively well women treat me when I get on the plane in National Airport and when how badly they treat me when I get off at Pearson is immediately apparent. While I cannot manipulate game to my advantage very well, I am painfully aware of its influence at all times. Girls will at least talk to me in DC when I approach them. I can't count on that in Toronto.

When my friend from Queen's moved down to DC and we met by coincidence, the fifth thing he said to me was "Wow, you know it's a lot easier to meet women here." Neither of us were aware of game at the time beyond some really crude stuff.

For crying out loud, Canada's contribution to game is orders of magnitude out of proportion to its relative population (mystery, tyler durden, luckystar, Zan, the list goes on). Why is that more likely? Because Canadian men are just that inherently awesome? Or because they had no other choice but to learn?

If you have Roosh's level of game, this discussion is irrelevant. Of course you should go to Toronto because it is hands down the cooler city and banging chicks isn't an issue. But when I started doing workshops, I always tried to book them in Toronto so that I could be absolutely sure the stuff they taught could work anywhere.

What level of game do you have?
What kind of game is it and what race are you?
Do you rely on social circle or cold approach?

I'm just trying to look at the factors.
I know guys who do amazingly well in Toronto and get with the hottest girls here. All of them are extraordinary guys.

The problem is that a guy like me who works his ass off but doesn't get much from cold approach. I feel like I'm fairly decent looking and interesting to talk to. My day game is pretty decent. The problem is that results are inconsistent with the type of girls I want to date which are cute 7 and 8s. Also I don't like Asian girls here.

If you want you can come and critique my day game. I welcome any guy on the forum to come out. I'm not some dude who hides in his basement and complains. I'm regularly at the mall approaching.

Once again I'm' not referring to social circle game. Most guys in Toronto who do well do through social circle game. However, its like farming while cold approach is like hunting. It takes time and its not as fun.

I'm pretty sure we've established this in a number of threads now... people are not claiming it's difficult to get laid in cities like DC or Toronto. The problem is the quality for the effort is garbage compared to most other major cities. There are less hot women, so you work harder for less quality poon. The average girls have their heads so far up their own asses you don't want them, but they're all there is for the most part. It's all demographics really.

On one hand of the ring, you have the PC capital of the world, Toronto aka Boretown, full of betas, white knights, feminazi, mediocre to average girls believing they are princesses with a self worth and sense of entitlement as big as the Pacific Ocean. Throw into that depressing weather, horrible attitude which is more and more morphing into fatitude unfortunately and to make matters worst, it's overpriced as hell.

On the side of the ring, you have DC, Washington DC, the feminazi/femincunt capital of the world, full of betas, white knights, where mediocre to average girls believe they are princesses with a self worth and sense of entitlement as big as the Milky Way. Throw into that depressing weather, awful ratios of girls to guys in bars and clubs, rampant fatitude and overpriced as hell.

Lovely, isn it? LOL

So my fellow Torontonians and DCites, who's the best of the worst? Come defend your city in the Battle of the Titans.

Banana

Haha...VP, this thread was bound to turn up. Me and Roosh discussed DC vs TO more than a few times...I think we concluded that DC was worse only because DC truly has uglier women.
