Well I guess this whole thing is a big

The date itself was fine, but it didn't take me more than a few minutes to decide I was not physically attracted, and she raised more red flags than a Chinese Olympics.

Summary: early 30's, majored in Sociology and Women's studies, perfumed like grandma so the smell made me a little sick, and...somewhat recently lost over a hundred pounds.

On the other hand I was totally fine just staying in the moment and conversing and joking about whatever for 3 hours. I practiced my conversation skills. Anyway, I decided to friend-zone myself by absolutely zero escalation, and hopefully exiting gracefully. However, even before getting home I had a text saying she wanted to meet up again.

Oh well, it was a good experience. But it shows me that I am really at the bottom.

Need some more leads.

What do you mean by that? I mean, it sounds like you done good and didn't mess up at all and you took yourself out of the game on purpose since you weren't attracted to her. How are you at the bottom?

And as someone whose never had a 'date', tell me how did the first 10 minutes or so go? Was it like a job interview and you asked each other about your work and stuff? Or were you somehow able to get into a fun 'vibe' fairly fast?

It started off with the boring job interview stuff but then moved along to other topics. I didn't really think about it- I guess I just made observations about what was said and then kept doing that. I'd say it was about 85% the girl talking about herself with my various questions and 15% of me answering questions.

You've got 2 choices at this point. Feel sorry for yourself that you didn't bang a hottie last night. Or pat yourself on the back that you finally approached, finally got the number, and finally went on a date.
